Black on a Budget – E.L.F. Black Cream Eyeliner

It’s as simple as this, E.L.F.’s affordable, black, and truly smudge-proof cream eyeliner from Watson’s SM made my day.

My current cream gel liner, Maybelline’s Eye Studio Lasting Drama (mouth full) Liner, is slowly running out and starting to run dry.  I thought it might be time to bring out the blow dryer or stick that tiny glass pot in the toaster oven.  I’d be willing to do either of those bright ideas to melt the remaining product, but I also thought it was a good time to secure a different brand replacement in advance.  It comes with a tiny 2.5 inch angled brush that isn’t magnificent but thankfully isn’t totally useless.  The only thing I’m not 100% happy about is the plastic container as compared to Maybelline’s little glass pot, but packaging like that always adds to the price and that’s too much of  a trifle to fret about.

E.L.F. properly stands for Eyes, Lips, and Face which is, I’d say, a worldwide, budget-friendly brand featured by the least known (like myself, LOL) and most well-known makeup fanatics online. Bloggers, vloggers, and gurus alike rave about the quality you can get away with at the prices that this brand has to offer.  Within the walls of SM I made this little pot of cream eyeliner mine for Php220.00.  It was discounted at 10% off.  What I love about it is its moist, smooth, dark black payoff that doesn’t disappoint.  This is about two swipes to thicken.

But, you know what the best part about this is?  For the price, check out how this black line by E.L.F. fares versus soap and water and a good two, three, four, five or more heavy-handed rubs…

The line didn’t even bleed, Y’all.  You can still see some of the soap left behind after I rubbed my hand with soapy water, then I started using my nails to scratch it off and got somewhere but still had a hard time.  Maybe some stronger cream hand soap variant or oil-based remover might give it a move off faster, but still, what a really good find it is :).

  • Wow, impressive! I’ve been on the lookout for liquid eyeliner these past few days, and your review has me convinced to try out this cream one 🙂

Btw, I also use a Canon s90 and though I rarely go beyond the auto mode, I’m a very happy camper with it 🙂
