Spring Smell-Ah-Rama, the scents on my mind…

There’s a cloud of mystery that hangs around a fragrance (especially in spring I believe, after some women have thawed out their nostrils) when you’ve first spied that lovely bottle in a random glossy ad or some alluring blog post.  I love the curiosity that arises in oneself shortly after.

Here is a tiny flock of high-end scents that I’ve gathered here that I think I might just love based on:

1.) How girls and experts online have described, raved, or written about them

2.) The official scent descriptions with notes mentioned or not…and yes…

3.)…ok, fine, the bottles they come with.

I’ve only experienced two on this list and it’s at the bottom, but let’s begin with the big MJ.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh, Site Info, MarcJacobs.com: “Daisy Eau So Fresh has a charming twist on our classic fragrance, Eau So Fresh is more fruity, bubbly and more fun than our classic. Top layer: Natural Raspberry, Grapefruit, Pear  Mid base: Violets, Wild Rose, Apple Blossom  Dry base: Musks, Cedarwood, Plum”

Quickly described as: A sophisticated, fruitier, fresher, and younger version of Marc Jacob’s original Daisy.

Peace, Love, & Juicy Couture,  site info, JuicyCouture.com: “Inspired by earthly beauty and ethereal dreams, Peace, Love & Juicy Couture captures the free-spirited flower-child vibe of Malibu with notes of Meyer lemon blossom, wild hyacinth, sweet apple accord, black currant, jasmine absolute, star magnolia and sweet patchouli flower this eau de parfum is trimmed with bohemian gems, charms and girly tassels.”

Quickly described as: A beautiful combination of fruits and florals trimmed with charming accessories.  Continue Reading to see more scents!

Vivienne Westwood Naughty Alice, Site Info, VivienneWestwood.com: “Naughty Alice is a sensual and audacious new fragrance inspired by Vivienne Westwood’s playful and highly creative imaginary universe.  This chic feminine and provocative new floriental perfume leaves you with a naughty twinkle in the eye. At the very heart of Naughty Alice’s perfume is a luminous floriental which dazzles the senses. The modern powdery elegance of black rose and carnal violet is sublimated by the warm sensuality of the ylang-ylang.”

Quickly described as: A sweet but light feminine scent.   I don’t know about being naughty though, that isn’t me really.

Tocca Bianca, Site Info, Tocca.com: “Inspired by Tea time in Italy, Bianca opens with a light citrus blend of lemon orpur and mandarin. Green tea and rose petals bloom, while a whisper of musk and sugar linger on the skin.  Top notes: Bergamot, Lavender, Mandarin and Lemon Orpur Middle notes: Rose Petals, Jasmine and Green Tea,  Bottom notes: Musk, Sugar

Featured/Photographed/Mentioned by: It’s pathetic, I totally forgot who, it was some blogger who said she couldn’t stop smelling it on her wrist or something.  Must be good then, right?

Quickly described as: Slightly addictive…very feminine, and yes, as you can see, Jasmine seems to be the note of the year.

Chanel Chance, Site Info from Chanel.com: “It’s your chance . . . TAKE IT!  A decidedly young scent . . . for those who dare to dream.  A constellation of orbiting scents. Floral notes merge with sensual, sweet and spicy elements.”

Quickly described as: A sweet but light feminine scent, florals, spices and sweetness.  I LOVE this.  I smelt the Eau Tendre version (Pink) off a magazine flap, and Mom and I smiled, “unmistakenly feminine” she said.  I like what I smelt, a demure, lovely fruity floral.  So I do like the pink one.   I have to say though, I’m disappointed with the official scent description F-A-I-L on the site, and this is Chanel.  “It’s your Chance, take it?!”  It sounds like a poor, hard-selling point coughed up by someone who didn’t have the presence of mind to remember it would be words for Chanel.

Coach Poppy, site info from Coach.com: “Sweetly scented jasmine and gardenia mingle with fresh cucumber and candied rose petals in a pretty, lighthearted fragrance.”

Featured/Photographed/Mentioned by:  Xsparkage (Leesha on YouTube)

Quickly described as:  What’s funny is she kept saying it was fruity…but apparently those aren’t the notes.  The truth is it’s a sweetened floral.  Last but not the least…

Miss Dior Cherie, site info from Dior.com:  “Miss Dior Chérie Eau de Toilette was designed by Dior Perfumer-Creator François Demachy like a stroll through a blossoming garden. The same Couture style and the same theme are prolonged from the original Miss Dior to this new opus: a chypre accord, which is enlivened with a springtime spirit. A fragrance with floral accents that dazzles with joie de vivre.

Miss Dior Chérie Eau de Toilette is a fresh floral chypre. Dior’s freshness and elegance reinvented and embellished with spring-scented notes.  Sweet Orange Essence–The top note is the first olfactory impression and the most volatile.  Essence of Neroli–The heart note is the fragrance’s core and lasts for several hours.  Patchouli–The base note lasts the longest and can be perceived in clothing for several months.”

Quickly described as:  Significantly floral and sophisticated.  I should have gotten the Eau de Parfum so it would last longer.  Have any of the scents I mentioned snagged your interest?
