My New Job – Tinette & Co. Salon Now Open at San Antonio Plaza, Forbes

Ok, so why have I hardly been blogging this March?  It’s only because I’ve made a major career shift.  It was that turning of the page point in my life, and although my love for post production (digitally crafting TV commercials) was deep I just needed to head in a new direction for my overall physical and spiritual well-being, I miss my visual effects team to bits over there but I’ve been so busy and haven’t been able to tear away practically at all these last weeks and I’ll get to why in a moment.

Tinette & Co. Salon is owned by Tinette Ozamiz-Puyat and has been successfully in business for about 17 years now. Hers has been our family’s go-to salon ever since its first location in G&A building in Pasong Tamo many, many years ago, I was about 8 years old that time.  I still remember her draping that cutting cape around me when I was younger to engage me for a trim.  What makes Tinette highly effective as a creative director and salon owner is her in-depth and hands-on understanding of every service that is offered in her salon.  She is an accomplished hairdresser and continues to do haircuts for clients by appointment.  She studied hair and cosmetology at Vidal Sassoon Academy, specialized in haircuts and color at Clairol color institute in New York and Schwarzkopf in Hamburg.  Working and tediously studying abroad has given Tinette that professional edge.  To this day, on a yearly basis, as her schedule allows, she travels to take refresher courses and classes to keep herself updated with new trends and techniques.

TINETTE OZAMIZ-PUYAT, Owner/Creative Director of Tinette & Co. Salon Professionals

Today, her flagship beauty salon in Forbeswood Heights Bldg. along Rizal Drive in Fort, Taguig hosts a swarm of Tinette’s original, committed, highly-trained staff and caters to a staggering list of loyal clientele.  Make no mistake, Tinette & Co. salon isn’t just for women, a collection of distinguished gents, among them my Dad and brother, avail of the men’s haircut on a regular basis.  Now, here is why I’ve been busy.  By God’s grace, I managed to apply at Tinette as a make-up artist in order to gain experience in the industry, but weeks later I was offered an opportunity to be manager of the newly nested Tinette & Co. branch at San Antonio Plaza, Forbes, and yes, I took it :).

So after weeks of tedious, thoughtful, head-spinning preparation in February we came together as a tight team and opened our doors to Forbes on March 1, 2011.  Here’s a quick snapshot of the ravishing front desk staff directly under me, for appointments, other than me from time to time they will be there to answer your calls or inquiries.

From left to right are Ms. Susan (Front Desk Supervisor), Ms. Imelda, and Ms. Jona, my lovely front desk personnel.  I did Imelda’s make-up, and will feature what I used on her lips this week :).  We are here to happily bring beauty and polish to the Forbes community and for that matter just about anybody who’d like to stop by, sit back, and relax amidst grooming.  In case you couldn’t see the image above with the contact info, for appointments you may call 806-7148 or 806-7050 for landlines and call or text 09178265319.  We are located between La Nuova Pastelleria restaurant and Mercury Drug on the Ground Floor of San Antonio Plaza Bldg. (across the church), McKinley Road, Forbes, Makati City, 1219.  By the way, I also do commissioned make-up at this salon I manage, but only by appointment.  I’m excited and would be thrilled to see any of  you ladies and gents stopping by T&C0. San Antonio soon for a happy and relaxing salon experience. 🙂

  • Congratulations on the new store Julia!

Hi Julia! My mom also goes to Tinette for regular maintenance. She sometimes bring me there to whenever she can’t stand my scraggly tresses and I must say, I love how Josie do wonders on my hair! I haven’t met Ms Tinette personally but from what I heard from my mom she seems like a nice woman. We go to the Forbeswood branch though, although she mentioned nga that there’s a new one across SSA lang.

And btw, I’m also a slave of post production! I’m currently testing the waters of the makeup industry, since I have photographer-friends who I’m helping to primp up their subjects. I’ve been following your blog since last month to get some makeup tips and inspiration. 😀
