I tried this mineral foundation on myself today and took before and after shots and even simulated evening shots with flash to share with you guys how it performs in different lighting situations. Read more to see how this mineral pressed powder foundation applies and looks on me.
What impressed me was I didn’t expect it to be as smooth as it was and the shade I asked for, Honey (Fair-2nd from lightest) was a spot on match. Let’s begin with a “before” shot. For a more flawless finish before using this powder foundation make sure you exfoliate and cleanse before application to make sure no flaky bits or white heads stand out, powders tend to enhance dry bits.
I applied this product using my Real Techniques Multi Task Powder/Foundation brush. I did not use concealer in any of these shots. With mineral foundations like this you can opt to use a kabuki brush or any densely bristled powder brush. As you can see this pressed mineral powder does give reasonably good coverage and I think what adds to how good it looks on me is the shade Honey that matches me quite well. A few minor things I wish it didn’t do was slightly sit on the skin so in some areas it could be obvious you’ve got powder on. Now onto the “night” shots. We have a bathroom with no windows for guests downstairs so closing the door and having the light on totally simulates artificial light at night.
This product looks WAY BETTER for evening makeup. At “night” as you can see it isn’t as obvious that you’ve applied a powder and it looks more like part of your skin than in harsh daylight. It actually looks quite beautiful. Now here’s the shot with camera flash enabled.
Very impressive don’t you think? Out of a scale from 1-10 I’d give this a 7, it’s very good value considering how affordable it is and that it is talc and toxin-free. It’s suitable for sensitive-oily skin but probably not as ideal for dry skin. It’s good to consider the fact that this product is made right here in the Philippines. The Meloto family founded Human Nature as a business that thrives from the organic livelihood of Gawad Kalinga communities. I’m quite proud to say that what I’m wearing right here is a Filipino product and its regular price is Php495.00 but right now this product is on SPECIAL OFFER for Php475.00 over at the Human Nature online store, click here!
