My Nationwide Thanksgiving Treat Beauty Giveaway! – Open ’til Nov. 25, 2012

November 19, 2012 - 1:44 pm

I would personally like to thank you for the support of all my readers, half of which I know are family and friends whom I hold dear.  The blog would not be where it is right now without your enjoyment, support, encouragement, and comments and so I’m very very thankful to you guys for being able to enjoy OR withstand my beauty musings and kikay outbursts LOL.  To the rest of you who I may or may not have responded to via your comments on my posts I pray you have a marvelous Thanksgiving.  Just the other day at a wedding I did makeup for one of the entourage guests I worked on turned out to be a reader who wasn’t referred to the blog by anybody I knew…which is a total first.  I was put in a surreal spot when I began doing her makeup, I was like “Really? You’ve actually been reading my blog for a year already?  This is too surreal…”.

I know that Thanksgiving is already this Thursday but so that more people can join this lovely giveaway (my biggest ever I think) I’m keeping this nationwide giveaway open until November 25th, this Sunday.  What you have here are a mix of beauty goodies and/or samples I got from the U.S., Hong Kong, and some excess items some lovely brands have been sending me throughout the year.  Only 1 or 2 things are items I fished out of sample boxes I was given only because I believed you guys would really like to check them out.  Some of the brands included are Estee Lauder, Clinique, Diptyque, Cetaphil, L’oreal, Human Nature, NYX, and quite a few more :) .

1 Clinique Turn Around Concentrate 15ml, 1 Clinique Liquid Facial Soap 30ml, 1 Clinique All About Eyes Cream 5 ml, 1 Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion 15ml,

1 NYX Luscious Lipgloss Palette 02 The Naturals, 1 Maldita clothing Member’s Discount Card, 1 Benefit Cosmetics Posie Tint Sample 2.5ml,

1 Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero-Smudge Mascara, 2.8ml Deluxe Travel tube, 1 Estee Lauder Hydrationist Moisture Serum 7ml, 1 Fresh Brown Sugar Eau de Parfum Rollerball,

1 Diptyque Philosykos Eau de Toilette Sample 1.5ml, 1 Diptyque Huile Precieuses, Precious Oils sample 10ml, 1 Diptyque Lait Frais, Fresh Body Lotion 10ml,

Told you it was a hefty one!  Click Read more to get to close up photos of the prizes and use the Rafflecopter Mechanics widget at the very bottom which has the complete list of prize.  Use the embedded widget’s instructions in order to enter and join, there are 3 mandatory steps and 1 optional action for extra points.  IMPORTANT:  Remember, you must follow the instructions in the widget exactly, and REALLY leave a blog post comment before you click “I COMMENTED” on Rafflecopter because I will still check the blog post comments because that is mandatory for the giveaway.  This giveaway is open only to Philippine residents.  Read more to continue to Rafflecopter.

Some of my most favorite items among all the prizes are in this first photo.

That reader I did makeup on at the wedding even said she currently has the blog linked in bookmarks so she can always check it.  I had no idea I’d be assigned to do makeup for the wedding she attended so it was a lovely orchestrated round up for me this Thanksgiving.   Some of you might be sad, oppressed by struggles, or brokenhearted even but just know that the fact that you are breathing, sitting, able to see and read this post right now is reason to rejoice in God’s goodness, know that there is a drop of hope in every second that we live.  Hope you all enjoy being able to take part in this giveaway!  I thought it would also be encouraging for all of us to be able to read what we’re all thankful for.

I’ve been reading your blog ever since I started getting interested in skin care and makeup (early 2011, I think) and it’s one of my favorites because of the clean layout, fabulous pictures and excellent reviews. I found it through Google! :) Thanks so much for this wonderful giveaway and happy thanksgiving to you too, Julia!

Wow, there’s a lot to be thankful for in the past few months alone. Mainly what I’m thankful for this year is that my dad who had a stroke early this year is slowly but steadily improving. From someone who was bed-ridden because of the effect the stroke had on the right side of his body to one who can walk short distances with the help of a cane. We’re still definitely pushing for more. And thanks Julia for this great giveaway! :)

There are so many things that I am thankful for this year but I am singling out my parents as the one that I am so grateful for. Even if I’m having quite a bad time at my work, they keep on encouraging me to try my best on everything I do. And while I am still convinced that this work I am doing right now is not the best fit for me and my skills, they are supporting me in my decision and keeping faith that I am going to make the right choice.

Eternally thankful for (in no particular order): one. family– my parents who are still strong and healthy. Two, my career– the people I meet, the lives I am able to touch, my ever-patient partner, clients who love our work. Three, my friends– a source of joy and laughter which makes the ride of life easier and more fun. Four, my students– who enrich me in every way possible and teach me that patience is not only a virtue but also a MUST. Five, the people I work with– who make whatever I draw on paper possible. Above all, the gift of salvation, grace and righteousness without which leaves life a meaningless void, so thank you, Jesus!

I am thankful for all the blessings God has been showering me. My loving husband, supportive family, and my inspiring little baby are the reasons why I wake up each morning. I am also thankful for every experience that I have, may it be happy or sad, both teaching me life lessons I need in coping with my every day. I greet each day with optimism knowing that whatever challenge I will face, God and His instruments (the people He use to touch me) are there for me. Lastly, I am thankful for this opportunity to be writing here and being open to my new found passion – blogging. Thanks for being an inspiration, Ms. Julia. More Power.

Been reading your blog for almost a year now and I’d just like to say congratulations for the honest, sincere and witty writings on make-up, life, etc! Even much more now, that you strive to have an almost daily blog update. Your site is already on my list of home pages.

(p.s. I hope you don’t get offended that I’m commenting only now – at a contest blog entry at that. haha! – but hey, it’s an opportunity to compliment you. :) )

As with the theme of the other commenters, I’m thankful for the past, family & friends who stick around; and to new opportunities every day to start all over again. Happy thanksgiving!

I’m thankful for the support of my parents. I’m thankful that God has placed me in this University, that I am constantly surrounded by intelligent, interesting, and talented people, that He has helped me attain good grades last semester. I’m thankful for the amazing opportunities that have come my way since freshman year, the accomplishments I’ve made, and the fun I have every day. I’m thankful for my beautiful and supportive best friends, whom I know that I can trust with my life, whom I know will always be there for me. I’m thankful for everything, for the blessed life I’ve had, and for the hope that God constantly grants me for the future.

Hi Julia! I am that girl who you’ve done makeup on during the wedding last weekend! :) Haha! Being mentioned in your blog is an honor! (most especially as it is linked in Thanksgiving and Blog giveaways, yay!). Your blog has been a breath of fresh air for a silent-beauty-junkie-follower as I am. But what really inspires me (that made me bookmarked your blog in my browser) are posts such as these. I admire how you perceives life, and how you’re always grateful for each blessings. This simple blog can perk up somebody’s day, you just don’t know! I’m sure a lot of other followers have the same thoughts as mine. Again, thank you for sharing yourself to people you may not at all know, and thank you for making me gorgeous during the wedding last Saturday! :) Cheers!

But one thing that I am most thankful for this year is my baby (2nd child). My pregnancy has been a bit difficult and had to undergo medication, and tests. Thank God that last March this year, I was able to give birth with a very handsome and healthy baby boy! Prayers were answered! ♥

I am thankful for God for never abandoning me and constantly loving despite of me constantly failing Him. I am thankful for my grandmother and all my supportive relatives for helping me in my studies and in one last “PUSH” I will be graduating by March. Without their help and support, I wouldn’t be able to study in one of the top 4 universities in the Philippines. It has been a difficult year for me but I am thankful for all my church companions for being there with me supporting me, strengthening me, encouraging me and constantly praying for me. Lastly, I am thankful for my mom though not able to support us financial, she never abandoned me and my sister (who has autism). I am thankful for all my college friends, despite and inspite everything that has happened between us, we still remained good friends for 4 years now. I am thankful that no matter how difficult life became, she never gave up on us. I am thankful that despite all the difficulties, hardships, and heart aches I’ve been through, there are still things to be thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving to you! :)

I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: I love reading your blog not because of the (excellent, by the way) reviews, but your engaging style of writing. I love that you write about high-end and drugstore products, and have a significant number of posts on skin care — face, hands, and body! I think reading your blog influenced me to shift my personal interest from makeup toward skin care. (I envy your good skin!) Thank you for sharing your world with us.

I am thankful that God gave me the opportunity to do what I love! And sharing my life with my family and friends is the best! Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m thankful for the loyalty my boss has for me. It’s essential that you’d be loyal to your boss but to be able to have that favor returned is such a great thing you’d always be thankful for.

I am really thankful for having a baby. I am due early next year but I am so excited to see her. I know a couple of women who had miscarriages and I feel so lucky that my baby girl is alive and currently kicking me right now.
