5 Ways to Relax Before 2014 Hits High Gear
  • “That’s the things about pain. It demands to be felt.” I know it’s very teenybopper but that book The Fault in Our Stars, made me realize how pain is an emotion no one can ever hide from. You need to be able to feel it so that you may be able to get over it. I am forever changed in how I look at cancer people and have now a bigger sense of their real bravery.

  • I love the book/movie A Walk to Remember. I always cry when I read it. Even though Jamie and Landon didn’t start on good terms, they showed me what pure, true love is — how it can positively change a person.

  • I almost forgot that my favorite love story is Lucie ManetteXSydney Carton from A Tale of Two Cities. I am not a fan of love nor is A Tale of Two Cities a romantic novel. How Carton knows how much Manette and Damay love each other, how he wanted the best for both of them, how he sacrificed himself for the life of Damay, and how he unselfishly loved Manette. I think what Carton had for Manette was pure and true love. Every time I remember what their story it squeezes my heart and make me want to cry.

  • My Favorite Romantic scene in the movie ” My Best friend’s Wedding ” is the boat scene where the guy ” Michael ” told Julia Roberts who plays his best friend this romantic line that made me cry the whole time. ” WHEN YOU LOVE SOMEONE,YOU SAY IT.YOU SAY IT RIGHT THEN,OUT LOUD.OTHERWISE THE MOMENT JUST PASSES YOU BY” here’s the link of the romantic scene –>

  • “I like my choices. I hope she likes hers.”
From John Green’s best-selling novel, The Fault in Our Stars. This quote was taken from Gus’s’ letter to Van Houten. I particularly love this line and moment from the book because it was only after Gus’s’ death that Hazel Grace found out about the letter to which she replied after the last line – “I do Gus, I do.” Meaning that even if Gus had died, Hazel Grace didn’t regret falling in love with him which was her choice to begin with.

  • My favorite love story of all time has to be Persuasion by Jane Austen. It’s about getting a second chance in love. A woman, Anne Elliot is in love with a man, Capt. Wentworth, who was not considered suitable for her economic station in life, so she was “persuaded” by a family friend to reject this guy’s proposal. Years later, the guy comes back again into her life and is now a very successful man, who wanted to hurt Anne’s feelings after what she did to him.

My favorite lines from book has to be the letter that Capt. Wentworth wrote to Anne after Anne thought he didn’t love anymore. “…You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago…I have loved none but you. Unjust I may have been, weak and resentful I have been, but never inconstant…”

  • Windstruck 😀 My favorite scenes were the entire handcuffed together part. he found himself helplessly smitten by the young and beautiful police office. I also really like the moment when they are walking together and enjoyed all of their little adventures and games they play together. they are sweet and funny.

  • The movie If Only 🙂 The part where he doesn’t value his girlfriend and won’t do any effort to her. Then, had a dream about his girlfriend died in a car accident. Then he wakes up. And then what happened on the next day is exactly what happened before the accident and he knew that something will happen so he realized that he should do something for his girlfriend such as, making effort to her, value her and it makes me kilig when he surprised hisr girlfriend during the choir performance something. 😀

  • I like Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist where two persons meeting up in New York after their shitty relationship. They are like soulmates, musical soulmates. The book was awesome but the movie was better.

  • “I would rather have had one breath of her hair, one kiss from her mouth, one touch of her hand, than eternity without it.” I’m such a romantic sap, that this line from the movie ‘City of Angels’ had me blubbering and bawling my eyes out. Sure, the ending was heartbreaking, but it tells the story of a love so great that you would give up anything and everything for the one you love. Even if it didn’t work out in the end (because -*SPOILER ALERT for those who haven’t watched it yet LOL* – Meg Ryan’s character DIED gaah!), you still wouldn’t trade all the memories you had with that person.

  • The Fault in Our Stars by John Green is, AOTM, my favorite book of all time. I have so many favorite parts and quotes from the book but the one that struck me the most is when Gus confessed his love for Hazel. “I’m in love with you, and I’m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you.” ~Augustus Waters

  • I like the greenhouse romantic scene in City of Bones (haha teeny bopper). The place of setting itself is so nice and it was her birthday and aaaaah what would I give to be Clary at that time.

  • I have always been impartial to the movie Love, Actually. That scene where Andrew Lincoln (of TWD fame) holds up a series of cards to Keira Knightley, that reads, “But for now let me say, without hope or agenda, just because it’s Christmas – and at Christmas you tell the truth – to me you are perfect.”

That gets me. Every. Single. Time.

  • Me too Ilove this Movie Windstruck 😀 My favorite scenes were the entire handcuffed together part. he found himself helplessly smitten by the young and beautiful police office. I also really like the moment when they are walking together and enjoyed all of their little adventures and games they play together. they are sweet and funny.

  • My favorite romantic movie is “500 Days of Summer.” Although the movie says that it’s not a love story, I think it IS a love story only that it’s a tragic romance. I know most women are suckers for happy endings. Well, I’m not. I love this movie because it gives us a glimpse of reality. People whom we thought to be “meant-to-be” or “a match made in heaven” do not always end up together. And, that’s reality. It doesn’t give us false hopes. But, of course, this movie leaves us the message that someday we’ll be over someone and one day, maybe just one day, a new love will come along.

  • One of my favorite romantic stories is the story of Taylor Edwards and Henry from the book Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson. Taylor is a girl who’s used to running away from things when they get tough but when her dad was diagnosed with cancer and wanted to stay in their summer house she meets her “ex-boyfriend” and reconnect. Henry tries so hard to comfort Taylor, try to make her happy and just make up for the lost years but Taylor is hesitant. With Mr. Edwards having few months, Taylor is scared to have Henry back in her life again and lose him again but Mr.Edwards to live taught his daughter even after death ( in the form of a letter) that she can’t just keep on running and pushing people away thus Taylor took all the courage to face and apologize to Henry and to try the second time around.

The story taught me to learn how to forgive and always always let others explain when something goes awry, though it may be difficult but at least we owe it to them and ourselves to hear them out. It touched me because the book also shows how much Tay’s dad is willing to fight cancer just to keep his family intact because in the end it’s how you’ve spent your life and how you’ve influenced and touched others lives.

  • To be different from others I would ♥ to tell my favorite Tagalog romantic movie scene. It’s the confrontational scene of Popoy and Basha (from the movie One More Chance by Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz) and this is my favorite quote:

John Lloyd: Mahal ko si Trisha …
Bea: Alam ko, alam ko …
John Lloyd: She had me at my worst … you had me at my best … at binalewala mo lang lahat yun …
Bea: Popoy yun ba talaga ang tingin mo? I just made a choice.
John Lloyd: And you chose to break my heart.

Hubby and I super love this film and we saw this for the nth time because of the beautiful story and the actors are absolutely brilliant and there are many unforgettable lines too. Everyone could relate to this movie especially for the hopeless romantic…

  • “You should not look for me in the places I once was. Look for me in the places I am now. In soft rain.

    On starlit oceans. ”

  • So far today, I have watched “Bakit di ka crush ng crush mo?” for the nth time this week. It’s from the same book by Ramon Bautista. It tells of a story of a conservative girl who believes in true love and virginity at it’s finest. She was dumped and was taught by the leading man how-not-to-be-dumped in the future.I liked the movie simply because I agree with the main character. I believe in true love and that virginity must be preserved and is the best gift you can give to your soon-to-be husband.

  • Mine would be from the novel a Love Story, the part where Ali said, “love means never having to say sorry.”

  • From the movie, Love Affair: When Mike goes back to Terry’s house finally realizing that she was the one who bought the painting and finding out the real reason why Terry did not show up.

  • Favorite romantic movie is unofficially yours. I have lots of memories with this movie because this is the first movie we’ve watch together. I won’t forget the quote, “May tayo na pala Cess. Hindi mo man lang sinasabi.” It makes me kilig when i think about it since when we watch it, we have no commitment same with the story. But our relationship is comparable to friendship only until we ended up being together.

  • My favorite romantic book would be I’ve got your number by sophie kinsella. I like how humurous and at the same time kilig-worthy the plot is. It revolved around Poppy Wyat finding a cellphone in he trash and meeting the owner who is a businessman and finding herself beig involved with the owner’s life. I dont have a specific part that I like but their love story is such a realistic one. Alhough, Poppy is alreay engaged , the universe helped her see what she really wants in a person and in a marriage. Though, it was uconvential hoe she and Sam met, it was really meant for them to happen,

  • OMG!I really want to try laneige set for a long long time..XD
anyway ur blog posts are really informative. im learning new things from you. You are simply amazing. keep it up. XD

  • My favorite romantic movie scene is in He’s Just Not That into You where Alex arrives at Gigi’s apartment to declare his love for her. From the music, to the kiss and when he says ” You are my exception”. It is so romantic. 🙂 It touched me because it means that there is someone for each and everyone of us.

  • My favorite book and movie is Gone with the Wind!!! The love story of Rhett and Scarlett wasn’t typical… But yet so touching! For a long time, even after Scarlett married Rhett, she was sure that she didn’t love him but was deeply in love with another guy. It made Rhett suffer a lot. Even the death of their lovely daughter didn’t help them to understand each other. But at the end Scarlett realized it! But Rhett decides to leave her. Meanwhile, Scarlett dreams of love that has eluded her for so long. However, she still has Tara and knows she can win Rhett back, because “tomorrow is another day.”
I cry every time I read or watch this part…

  • I love the movie entitled “The Notebook” esp. the scene where the old man reads for his wife everyday and when it’s time for the woman to die, the old man went to her room and hug her tight and they both die at the same time. It made me cry ‘coz I’m imagining and hoping that my guy would be the same as the man in the movie that even if I would have an alzheimer’s disease, he would still take care of me and love me.

  • My all time favorite romantic movie is Titanic, hmm I know it’s too old but for me it never gets old. I think I watched it more than ten times already, I still remember Betamax pa ang copy namin noon. Hehehe this is my favorite line from the movie:
Rose: [letting go of Jack’s hand] I’ll never let go, Jack. I promise.
[she kisses his hand and watches him sink, almost falling apart before she finally climbs back into the water to call the lifeboat back]

jack: you jump, i jump, remember? i cant turn away without knowing you’ll be all right

Cal Hockley: Where are you going? To him? To be a whore to a gutter rat?
Rose: I’d rather be his whore than your wife.

    Rose: I love you, Jack.
Jack: Don’t you do that, don’t say your good-byes.
    Rose: I’m so cold.
Jack: Listen, Rose. You’re gonna get out of here, you’re gonna go on and make lots of babies, and you’re gonna watch them grow. You’re gonna die an old… an old lady warm in her bed, but not here, not this night. Not like this, do you understand me?
Rose: I can’t feel my body.
Jack: Winning that ticket, Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me… it brought me to you. And I’m thankful for that, Rose. I’m thankful. You must do me this honor, Rose. Promise me you’ll survive. That you won’t give up, no matter what happens, no matter how hopeless. Promise me now, Rose, and never let go of that promise.
    Rose: I promise.
    Jack: Never let go.
Rose: I’ll never let go. I’ll never let go, Jack.

Super kilig to the bones at the same I cried to the highest level 🙁

  • “We walk alone through this world, but if we’re lucky, we have a moment of belonging to something, to someone, that sustains us through a lifetime of loneliness.” My favorite series of all time is the Bronze Horseman series. It tells of an epic love story during war. The main characters are both so very brave, selfless, and dedicated. They show how true love can succeed in times of war, suffering, and separation. I love this series so much!

  • “In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” – Darcy to a confused and surprised Lizzy.
In spite of him coming from an affluent society, he went down from his pedestal and bared his soul to her. Before he knew it, he fell in love for her despite of her low upbringing. It was quite amusing and touching for me that a man of status immediately loses his pride, arrogance and might, those qualities only replaced with humility, sincerity, fear of rejection and beautiful longing eyes…

  • You can’t live your life for other people. You’ve got to do what’s right for you, even if it hurts some people you love.

    – The Notebook

Why? Because in this world we must not depend ourselves to others. We have our own unique capabilities, there are things that you can do when others cannot. Problems, trials are there, in that case, we must live our life not for others but for God, because He is the one who can truly helps us and He knows everything even before we call Him. We’ve got to do what’s right for us, even if it hurts some people you love. Yes, there are some instances that some situation really can hurt others, maybe because it’s God’s way how to can we learn from it or vice versa. It’s okay to feel some hurts and pains, with this, we were able to grow and in God’s time we will fully understand whats the reason behind every circumstances. That’s life, be yourself!

  • “They looked at each other for a long moment, and in that moment all was as it used to be – it was if they have never parted; but she did not offer to go into the Darkness with him and he did not ask her.”

This is from the last page of the last chapter of my beloved book of all time: Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell by Susanna Clarke. I’ve read this book over and over again and it never bores me. It’s about magic but also about love. This particular scene always brings tears to my eyes because I think this is how love should be: full of trust and understanding. I couldn’t say anything more because the concept has been there ever since. I’m pretty sure if we practice this always there wouldn’t so much hate and bitterness in this lovely world of ours 😀

  • “I’m a fairly level-headed bloke,” William (Hugh Grant) says, “not often in and out of love. Can I just say no to your kind request? With you I’m in real danger. It seems like a perfect situation, apart from that foul temper of yours. But my relatively inexperienced heart would I fear not recover if I was once again cast aside, as I would absolutely expect to be.” (Notting Hill, 1999)

When I heard this on Notting Hill, it hit me right in the core. This quote touched me because my heart was once hurt by someone who I thought loved me back. Like William, I’m not often in and out of love. Because of this person who hurt me, my own relatively inexperienced heart is a little afraid to love someone for a while.

  • Jerry Maguire
scene where T.Cruise have a long mono log and tell his story in front all those womans ans Rene stands up and say You had me at hello.

    The Notebook,Titanic,Serendipity…

Wonderful giveaway, thank you for the chance to win it.Have a lovely new week.

  • from the movie 50 first dates

the scene that touch me the most it the one wherein henry always try to relive oct 13 everyday when lucy had anmesia. this movie really touches me because the guy really made effort for the love of his life knowing that she cant remember him.

  • 500 days of Summer is my favorite. Although it is not a happy ending love story, it lets us face the fact that even if you love someone, if it’s not meant to be, it won’t happen. I love the part where he’s applying for a job and met a girl named Winter. There’s always one person that is meant for you.

  • I love Love Actually, especially the story of Colin Firth’s character and Aurelia. I love how they couldn’t really understand one other’s words but what they were saying to each other actually matched and how they separately learned the other’s language. Love the proposal scene!!!

  • I love the movie “Pretty Woman” of Richard Gere and Julia Roberts,
Edward tends to Vivian and tries to persuade her to stay with him because she wants to, not because he’s paying her. She refuses once again and returns to the apartment she shares with Kit, preparing to leave for San Francisco to earn a G.E.D. in the hopes of a better life. Edward gets into the car with the chauffeur that took her home. Instead of going to the airport, he goes to her apartment arriving accompanied by music from La Traviata. He climbs up the fire escape, despite his fear of heights, with a bouquet of roses clutched between his teeth, to woo her.
His leaping from the white limousine, and then climbing the outside ladder and steps, is a visual urban metaphor for the knight on white horse rescuing the “princess” from the tower, a childhood fantasy Vivian told him about. The film ends as the two of them kiss on the fire escape

  • One of my favorite book is Connected by Kim Karr. I really love
how the story written. The most romantic part of it is when the boy
ask the girl to marry him and she said yes. Suddenly the girl’s ex-boyfriend appeared
and he want the girl to love him again. The girl’s fiance fight for her even though the ex boyfriend breaks them.

  • I love A Walk to Remember. Cheesy I know but surely struck my heart.
Naming a star after your significant other is surely a very welcome gesture!
All of the sweet moments by jaimie and Landon are to die for.

  • i really love the twilight saga specially the breaking dawn, sometimes reading this kind of book makes me wanna live in fantasy world and immortal love do exist

  • “It’s amazing how many times in life I’ve said, “I want to do that someday”, not thinking that someday might never come. I will never take someday for granted again.”
― Lisa De Jong, When It Rains

I love Lisa De Jong When It Rains book! it was truly amazing! Beyond amazing! I finished this book about a month ago.. It’s not a typical classic romantic novel, but it it’s one of the best love stories I’ve ever read. it was a beautiful heartbreak story that hurt so good. I have never been so moved by a book. totally recommend it 🙂 it will remind you to appreciate every little thing in life and not take for granted those you love.

  • When Casper asks Kat, “Can I keep you?” Because hello! So cute. And kinda sad.
