In the midst of a Nivea dinner crowd overwhelmed with the Bohol seaside gusty breeze in January I talked above the wind insisting I share my favorite rich, brown eyeshadow with shivering seatmates.  With people lining up for food around us I fished out that nugget from my handbag.  You see how relentless and annoying I can be whether people are interested or not in if I really like something.  Right now it’s this single brown eyeshadow #14 Brun Cuivré (Brown Copper) by French mid-range brand Yves Rocher.

Without hesitation I said that if MAC “Teddy” eyeliner were an eyeshadow, it would most certainly be close to or if not exactly like this.  Ears perked,  Bloggers Kira a.k.a. Elegantly Wasted / and Shari a.k.a. The Misty Mom hovered in, hook, line, and sinker.  They quite agreed.  “Julia, here you are again enabling us…” Shari said while quickly inspecting to see. Read on.

I personally like this type of texture, pigmented but not too foiled…more of an elegant satin finish.  First swipe then second swipe show off quality.  The shade itself reminds me of my favorite Pixi Endless Silky eye pencil in Bronzebeam (review here) which I use as a substitute for eyeshadow on my lids sometimes.

The product claims to be Made in France and contains rice and bamboo extract.  It is such a good value size single eyeshadow and the color is so rich and lovely.  I use a Marionnaud #37 eyes brush to apply it and work it from front of the lid into the crease.  Yves Rocher has a boutique in SM Aura, BGC, that’s where I picked this one up.

  • Good to know Yves Rocher is still around. It pulled out of a mall near me several years ago, although their products were good.
