I just realized we’ve got a theme going, revolving around the number 5 to be exact, and you’ll be seeing that number for a couple of weeks I should think.  Yup, I’m doing an updated journey through my top 5 favorites in different categories (I just noticed so many of you are looking at my 2013 top 5 picks and we need to fix that).  The weather is slowly warming up and I’ve got myself thinking about my desert island picks and all that jazz.  All I know, for sure, that if I was going to pick just one makeup item to bring on a deserted island it certainly would be waterproof mascara and for tools a lash curler.

I am about to show you what I think are my locally available top 5 waterproof mascaras.  I put my foot down on the selection to make sure they are all locally available, at least here in Manila.  Please note they are not necessarily the cheapest mascaras they’re the best mascaras available here in my opinion (department store brands included). Read on to see what brands they are.

Currently among these 5 the most similar to Full ‘N Soft would be Revlon’s Lash Potion Waterproof, and it’s at the moment what’s gone back into my handbag so I can postpone using up my last tube of Full ‘N Soft.  Revlon Lash Potion Waterproof is similar to Maybelline Full ‘N Soft WP (to be sure there’s round blue sticker at the bottom which confirms it’s the waterproof type) only that it’s slightly as in slightly more claggy when it’s newly opened and it’s a deeper black and has a bigger brush so you may need to wipe a bit of excess mascara off sometimes, but like Full ‘N Soft it gives intense wispy separated definition and helps hold a curl.

In no rank whatsoever with my blog reviews and links attached:

  1. MAJOLICA MAJORCA EDGE MEISTER Waterproof Mascara (reviewed)

– best for length and curl (extremely waterproof)

2. REVLON LASH POTION Grow Luscious Waterproof Mascara (reviewed)

available at SM Beauty/Watsons beauty floors, Landmark

– best for wispy natural volume and length (awesome at combining false lashes with your own lashes on the final application)

3. BROWHAUS HD Waterproof mascara (reviewed)

available at Browhaus brow salons (Serendra, Greenbelt 5, Lucky Chinatown, SM Mega Fashion Hall, and Abreeza Davao)

– best for volume and separated definition (very waterproof)

4. MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Lash Waterproof Mascara (used and mentioned here)

available at Make Up For Ever (Greenbelt, Megamall, SM MOA)

PRICE: Php1500++

– best for intense looking volume (very waterproof)

5. ETUDE House Curl Fix Mascara (used and mentioned here)

available at Etude House boutiques (stores listed here)

– best for big bold volume and curl hold (extremely waterproof) it’s so waterproof I used it only on the bottom lashes and outer tips of my upper lashes

I love that Revlon Lash Potion has the black intensity of Benefit bad gal waterproof (which didn’t make it in here because it smudges on the bottom lashes). There, that’s me talking you through the Revlon one which I’m currently using.  By the way, special mention goes out to my Maybelline Full ‘N Soft Waterproof (mah daily bebe) but that’s in the U.S. only, not available here.  I’ve mentioned Full ‘N Soft WP on YouTube and on the blog several times, it’s gotten more than enough love in mentions already.

Hi! Long time silent reader here. I’m probably one of those who lurk around your 2013 lists, as you mentioned. Lol. Great list, good mix of high end and mid range products. Please do a list of powder foundations and under eye concealers!
