GOOD DESERT ROSE FAVES ON GOOD FRIDAY

There are a couple of new makeup things I’ve been testing out and liking quite a bit.  At the moment, I’m still developing a look to maybe present next for a video tutorial, today’s look is on its way there but I might amplify it a bit next time for video.  This post will focus on one of these bits in particular, an item I already blogged about in 2011.

NEWFaves_01

WHAT I HAVE ON, CLOCKWISE: NYX Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator  (Gleam), Laura Mercier Infusion de Rose Lip Balm, Fanny Serrano (original, no longer available) lash curler, NYX BB Cream, Catrice Sun Matte Bronzing Powder, L’Oreal False Lash Butterfly Waterproof Mascara, FS Features & Shades eyeshadow in “Frosted Chic”, Maybelline Fashion Brow mascara in Deep Brown, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in “Abu Dhabi” (reported dupe for Kylie Dolce) Php390,   Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in “Sand Dune”, FS Features & Shades Kohl Eye Pencil in “Caramel”(Shade like MAC Brunette brow pencil, used for eyes and brows), FS Features & Shades Powder Foundation in “Mocha” (new packaging), Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush only to set FS powder under eyes (instructional video for brush and powder foundation here, pressing motion)

Without my even having to mention, you’ll spot that there’s a definite desert rose shade theme running through this selection.  Please note that when I say Desert Rose theme I don’t mean the actual desert rose flower (which is actually a bright fuschia) but more of like my more naked, blushed, fictional take on a desert rose.  I also particularly mention the preferred matte liquid lipstick formula I’ve loved for 5 years.  Read on to see the look I put on today, it’s still wearable and natural, but I’ve switched up products a bit.

MAKEUP ESSENTIALS BY BROWHAUS MNL

Browhaus initially began in 2004 as a Singaporean brow and lash salon.  Your friendly pitstop for those arches is now in 9 cities globally, Manila included.  We’re ever so glad they’re here and they’re a popular spot to hit up especially before big events and weddings just to get those brows and lashes sorted.  It’s been a couple of years in but Browhaus Manila haven’t massively announced a certain fact about what’s in their boutiques.  They’ve only had mini launches, ’til last week that is.  Browhaus Manila carries makeup, too, the sort of makeup range that’s eye-catching yet utilitarian at its core.

  1. Browhaus Classic Brow Lead Php 648.00
  2. Browhaus HD Mascara Php 998.00
  3. Browhaus Precision Eyeliner Php 750.00

You might have read me raving about their HD mascara, it wouldn’t hurt to rave twice and mention their other stuff.  With this sort of makeup range, it so easy for a blogger like myself to put up a post.  I don’t need to explain away on each thing fully because the photos speak for themselves.   Read on for the full post and my obliging face with different things on.

PRETTY AND PROPER PROM MAKEUP BY ME

This one is a mega post, long but fun!  In a world where everything beautiful is said to be subjective to taste I still have my personal standards, especially when it comes to makeup for little women.  Call me old-fashioned but when it comes to prom makeup I still strongly think that it ought to celebrate youth and not mask it entirely.  I feel like breaking out into a rash whenever I hear about young people pulling all sorts of strings to try to look older at prom.  I spent the other night helping prep my cousin Stella who was invited to an all boys’ school prom.  I did her makeup upon request.

Processed with VSCO with k3 preset

There’s a fine line difference between looking older and looking of age and I always sincerely hope that girls decide on the latter just as Stella did.  Read on for a before and after shot, products used, details on how I did it and a sneak peek at Stella’s personal makeup kit at the end.

MY BUDGET SUMMER MAKEUP EDIT 2016

I get the random comment about my makeup recommendations being safe for normal and clear skin types.  A good number of you out there, I’ve observed, prefer more coverage.  So, for today’s budget  summer makeup look I am sporting more coverage and a heavier less dewy finish, more than what I’d personally wear.  For those among you who like things more packed in and shine-free I give you this edit.

In the look I do not use the eyeliner but I’ve still added an eyeliner recommendation.  Read on for more on the look and product details.

The MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Sculpt Range

“IMMA FINISH BY MIDNIGHT” says the author of this post on Snapchat.  Great, now I’m stressed, I gave myself 25 minutes left to tell you bits and bobs about MAKE UP FOR EVER’s new Pro Sculpt range.  I certainly won’t make it before midnight (after midnight disclaimer right there).  You’ll also have to pardon my severely chipped nails.

MUFE_prosculpt_01

In a nutshell, the brow item is everything one needs for a precise natural brow and then some (with a waxier texture, a spoolie brush, and a highlight sponge bulb in the middle), the contour and color kit just works, and they were thoughtful to do both brow and face kits in several colorway intensities (4-5 shades for brow and contour items) according to depth of skin hue.  The lipstick item I specifically left out for separate review because the one they gave me was red (items above were at the event).  I also include gossmakeupartist’s video tutorial for the use of the palette at the end of the post.  Read on to see me try on the palette and brow pencil.
