I’m really beginning to enjoy how my IKEA Glasholm desk has changed my life in terms of productivity just in the last 3 days. For one it’s easier to film videos now that my camera and tripod can go on top of my desk and shoot me with a full blast of window light. So, yes, I did film another video and wow, a miracle, only 11 minutes in total! That means I’m either getting better at shooting or editing.

It isn’t the most PERFECT no makeup makeup tutorial (I’m almost sure I can do a better one once my shoot setup improves) but it perfects what I believe in terms of amounts of product and the types of tones. I’m still at a point where my makeup application on myself when I’m NOT filming is a couple of notches better compared to when I’m filming myself. It’s all about learning to brush off the tension, and self-conscious spirals I guess, I’m much better at this video thing but I’m still learning. Thank you all for being warm and patient. After 3 whole weeks, I finally almost sort of get the vlogging setup I’ve always dreamed of. I overhauled my bedroom, got an affordable desk, and all that made filming in my safe and comfy zone rather than in our living room way more possible and picturesque! Watch the video hereor in the player below this image. I will post the list of products but I’ll edit that in tomorrow morning because I am falling asleep right as I type this. The products are mentioned and typed into the video.
You’re getting a second helping of beauty today because I’ll be up to my ears in theater work tomorrow for Joseph, the musical. This has to be one of the cheapest makeup finds I’ve had in quite awhile, and I’m prepared to rave because these are good! I needed to find some extra makeup bits for our work on Joseph but they’d have to be cheap with good value. I walked into the Dollar Store in Alabang Town Center not expecting to find these Santèe Rouge/mousses. Affordable, highly pigmented,shimmer-free matte cream blush in compacts with covers you don’t have to twist off. They’re currently on offer for Php69 (less than $2.00 USD) for a limited time.
FROM LEFT/CLOCKWISE: #01, #03 , #05, #02
I first bought two and left the store briefly, and I promptly tried #03 on in the ladies’ room. Upon discovering that they were a shimmer-free cream to powder formula that were also good enough to pat onto well-exfoliated lips, I hurried back remembering they were on Php69 offer perhaps only for a limited time (the sales guy said they sell for over a hundred elsewhere) and I got two more shades. I was on the hunt for some extra makeup bits for our work on Joseph the musical tomorrow…I needed the orange blush in particular for the concept of this look which we aren’t copying exactly but are drawing some inspiration from.
…and also realized I only had one cream blush in my professional kit. Obviously I decided that problem had to be solved. Reminder, be sure to swatch or patch test (apply on small facial area) affordable makeup from stores always before purchasing though. I just realized what a fuzz I was for not posting my second HD YouTube video on the blog last week which was my daily makeup tutorial. I blasted this one on social media to smithereens but didn’t post a single thing here.

In this tutorial I demonstrate how I do my daily makeup with a bit of simple pencil eyeliner. I also thoroughly demonstrate how I curl my lashes, a lot of people sometimes think I have lash extensions on when it’s really just lash curling and mascara. Finally, auggggghhh (as Charlie Brown says) finally, I got a MIDSUMMER BEAUTY FAVES video up. There were several attempts but the first few were of poor quality or too dark and the final attempt wasn’t perfect either LOL, but I didn’t want to let that one stop me from posting, I’ve figured out how to test whether I’m in focus for next time (forgive me, i’m also near sighted and sometimes when I wear contacts I still can’t tell from the itty bitty camera screen). I told myself if I don’t post ANY imperfect attempt up just to get me rolling again I’ll never get started. So I’ve begun. In the video I also show my current method of brow application.
I discovered after that this video was shot mildly out of focus (sooo sorry, next video will be sharper!!!) but the products I hold up are clear naman, with the exception of the Safeguard wash and towards the middle and end of the video I get closer to the camera. Here are my MIDSUMMER BEAUTY FAVORITES, click here to watch the videoor play it from the embed below :).
For all you Lisa fans, do you remember when she mentioned that she felt bad having to share a Spring favorite from a Japan haul because it was only available there? Well, from my exclusive source I’m here to let you know it will be a little while but the Shiseido Maquillage S/S 2015 range she mentioned is supposedly coming here, around mid-June to early July I was told.
To be honest the effect of this blush/complexion booster is quite difficult to photograph. It’s pretty much like the Asian version of the Hourglass Ambient Light blush range but this one casts a more long-wearing glow. I’d like to give a sweet shout out to team Shiseido to thank you for the opportunity to officially give you the first official preview of the exact Dramatic Mood Veil blush Lisa raved about online last spring. Lisa also confirmed to me directly that she is still using this product daily up to now, many months after that first look she gave in this video in January. Click to see more photos in the full post me wearing it.… To full post & COMMENTS...
Here’s a quick snap-up beauty edit for all the Moms who have laughed and ached with us, who have spurred us on to be the best. I’ve handpicked a couple of faves that I feel are relevant for you amazing reproducing females, I’ve tried my best to make it a mix for mothers new and old alike.
My mind cauldron had these attributes thrown in: practical, effective, youth-boosting, and desirable. The inspiration of the post screams from this image, how can you not do a Mom feature centered on a washable, wipe-down H&M x Marge Simpson monogrammed pouch? Though we’ve got a summer that blazes like no other we still like to vicariously live through the west’s celebration of the arrival of spring. The welcoming of spring awakens all things dead, like my feed for example, which has been for nearly two weeks thanks to BIR duties, LOL. I can hardly believe it’s been exactly a year since I landed in the US last year *stare-into-space-moment* and we’re back.
Happy Skin never ceases to delight by gathering the girls together once again for the launch of a new collection, their second summer yet first spring season inclusive Collection which has 2 crayon lippies (we weren’t given the crayons at the launch), 2 lip & cheek mousses, and a new blush duo sure to perk up those cheeks. With this limited Beauty in Bloom edition collection they have also released a new mascara!
