Santèe Rouge Mousse Cream Blush | On Php69 Offer from the Dollar Store

You’re getting a second helping of beauty today because I’ll be up to my ears in theater work tomorrow for Joseph, the musical.  This has to be one of the cheapest makeup finds I’ve had in quite awhile, and I’m prepared to rave because these are good!  I needed to find some extra makeup bits for our work on Joseph  but they’d have to be cheap with good value.  I walked into the Dollar Store in Alabang Town Center not expecting to find these Santèe Rouge/mousses.  Affordable, highly pigmented,shimmer-free matte cream blush in compacts with covers you don’t have to twist off.  They’re currently on offer for Php69 (less than $2.00 USD) for a limited time.

I first bought two and left the store briefly, and I promptly tried #03 on in the ladies’ room.  Upon discovering that they were a shimmer-free cream to powder formula that were also good enough to pat onto well-exfoliated lips, I hurried back remembering they were on Php69 offer perhaps only for a limited time (the sales guy said they sell for over a hundred elsewhere) and I got two more shades.   I was on the hunt for some extra makeup bits for our work on Joseph the musical tomorrow…I needed the orange blush in particular for the concept of this look which we aren’t copying exactly but are drawing some inspiration from.

…and also realized I only had one cream blush in my professional kit.  Obviously I decided that problem had to be solved.  Reminder, be sure to swatch or patch test (apply on small facial area) affordable makeup from stores always before purchasing though.   Click through to see me wearing these shades.

This “Kawaii” Tube Squeezer | A Daiso Php88 Non-Beauty Favorite

It’s amazing how something as simple as a tube squeezer can sort of brighten up your day, because it does what it’s supposed to…while being cute.  It’s on a roll today, duly delivering kawaii satisfaction and being cheap at the same time.  It also does not fail to tickle my fancy while being crystal pink.

The squeeze power on this is moderate, some people like the steel tube squeezers that would totally squeeze the life out of aluminum itself.  This would still do the job on aluminum tubes from brands like Antipodes and Aesop, though it won’t leave behind the flattened corrugation a steel squeezer would.  I prefer this and appreciate that this tube squeezer isn’t metal because the extremely high humidity here at home rusts and corrodes most metal objects over time even if they are stainless sometimes.  If I had the metal version, cool, but I’d have to keep it in a humidity-free box.  For the price, Php88 (or was it 66? either way happy pa din) at Daiso this tube squeezer is a good one.  It also comes in other colors, if I’m not mistaken I think I saw a crystal mint, and crystal lavender or apricot.… To full post & COMMENTS...

Alcon Air Optix Colored Lenses in “Brown” | Eyes Breathe for Longer Comfort, Longer Wear

Freshlook’s famous range of colored contact lenses got a revamp from global optical care brand, Alcon.  They’ve just released Air Optix locally which is an improved wear version of our favorite Freshlook Colorblend lenses which are now called Air Optix Colors.  The Air Optix technology has also been applied to regular, clear lenses in a range (Air Optix Aqua, Air Optix Night and Day Aqua, Astigmatism, and Multifocal).

In real life, Alcon Air Optix “brown” subtle enhancers look almost like my real eye color and the pixels aren’t noticeable.  The Air Optix colors compared to the previous Colorblends range have a slightly larger lens overall from my observation but with a shallower curve that fits my eye better. The colored diameter of the lens is smaller than before and fits the iris more, making them look less noticeable over eyes and more real.  I prefer “Pure Hazel” to “Brown” for more noticeable but subtle enhancement. “Brown” is too close to my actual eye color.

You can choose between subtle and vibrant shades: pure hazel, blue, green, grey, brown, brilliant blue, gemstone green, honey, and sterling grey

Air Optix has little information online regarding pricing of the Air Optix colors but I spotted pricing for their other lens variants at GlassesOnline.com here

(for daily use, monthly disposables)

*Mascara used: Benefit Rollerlash

I was sent the subtle enhancing shade “Brown” with my exact myopic grade per eye applied (thanks, Freshlook team).  Like before, you still have two shade lines to choose from, the subtle enhancing hues (what were known as Colorblends: Pure Hazel, Brown Etc., original stock still available I think), and the vibrant transforming shades (Brilliant Blue, Sterling Grey, etc.).  Basically with Air Optix technology all that annoying blinking that begins toward the end of the day when contacts want to hit the eject button has practically been dealt with, not 100% of course, you will still need re-wetting drops in the longrun (especially at air-conditioned venues), but by and large you get significantly extended wear and eye comfort for sure.  Gotta love this new technology and Alcon’s Opti-Free Pure Moist multi-purpose solution as well (“Comfort and Moisture from insertion to removal”) which gives added comfort once the contacts have soaked in the solution overnight.

I have to say…the validated difference is I had moments this week when I almost forgot I had these contacts on.  They’re slightly trickier to remove because they’re so smooth and slippy when they’re new but for me that’s proof of how comfortable they are and how well they fit the eye.  I almost can’t wait to get Freshlook’s Air Optix version of my favorite always repurchased shade Pure Hazel.  Inquire at your local optical shop today to see if they already carry Air Optix Colors by Alcon.… To full post & COMMENTS...

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in “Agogo” | Framed by Ever Bilena “Orange” Lipliner

There was an Instagram post of a Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid lipstick I had on that got a lot of attention over a month ago, sorry it’s taken this long to actually tell you about it.  A friend of mine from New York passed by Manila for awhile last month and she brought me goodies and was so sweet, she even added special stuff on top of the stuff I requested, and she wouldn’t let me pay her even though I was really going to.  Love you, woman, you know who you are, will certainly see you again in the Big Apple sometime in the not so near future LOL!  For now, though, I’m going to continue enjoying what is probably the brightest matte coral liquid lipstick I have ever owned.

KAT VON D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, $19 from Sephora “Drench lips in Kat’s extreme-pigment potion that redefines serious staying power. The full-coverage, long-lasting formula glides over lips like a gloss, but dries to a velvety, matte finish. Infused with nourishing vitamins A, C and E for added comfort, it won’t dry out or feather like other matte lipsticks. Go bold with daredevil brights, bare it all in neutral nudes or experiment with two-tone and ombré for undying expression.  You know the drill…Peruse. Create. Capture. Submit. Repeat.” Paraben-free

I blame Anna of Vivianna Does Makeup for “singing its praises” on YouTube.  I wasn’t too sure at first because I thought it might be redundant since I had MAC Lady Danger lipstick, slightly fearing it might be the same thing only in a different format.  No, Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid matte lipstick in “Agogo” is in a class of its own because it’s an eensy-weensy bit brighter than Lady Danger.  Continue to the full post to see more photos.
