  • The quality of the eyeshadows in L'Oreal's La Palette Nude set actually impress me more than those in Urban Decay's first Naked palette to be honest...which is the reason why I couldn't convince myself to buy one of those.

Bless My Bag Posts

Truly Tangled – ‘La lang, delighted with the movie plus my Flynn Dupe :)

Have you gotten Tangled up yet? 🙂  I have…

This will be just a bit more informative and there won’t be an in-focus review in here really, nothing to spoil it in case you haven’t watched.  Just raves, wows, and credit where it’s due.  The movie’s Executive Producer is none other than John Lasseter, creator of Toy Story and visionary lead animator/story creator of Pixar Studios.  The movie isn’t a Pixar film, this is a Disney project and since Disney and Pixar go hand in hand when it comes to supporting one another, bringing John Lasseter on board more or less should’ve been easy-peasy, I’m guessing so just don’t quote me on that.  Mandy Moore takes the leading lady’s voice as Rapunzel and the movie’s heart-melting music is by none other than Disney’s music man for The Little Mermaid, Alan Menken.  The art direction and animation are exquisitely done to the point that you really can’t look away or check what time it is or spy your mobile for texts in the theater.  All I can say is…you HAVE to watch this, it is beautiful, it is super-duper fun, and be ready to cry.  The last time I felt this way about a movie was after Finding Nemo came out.  My Mom and Dad were a teary mess this evening, me too almost, the tears came, but they didn’t stream.  And oh, although my boyfriend wasn’t with us when we watched…

…you can see here why I couldn’t stop thinking about him throughout the entire movie, LOL!! Aww…so straightaway you can see he makes a perfectly Asian FlynnRider dupe.

Here’s another photo below of both of us (about a year and a half ago) where our hair makes a much better movie hair comparison “Tangle-wise”.  Before this I even had my hair up to my waist.

I was heavier then and di ko alam exactly kung anung chika niya dito, basta kita ko na ‘di siya naka-ready for the cameraz LOL.  Enjoy the last ticking hours of your Sunday.  I must sleep now :).  Perhaps in a few days after more relevant make-up blog offerings I’ll share what shampoo I’ve been using for the last few months, a sulfate-free organic blend that’s local but not available at your local grocery and good value for your money. 🙂

Stila Eye Kajal Pencil in Topaz (Flesh shade)

The thing about Stila’s Eye Kajals is they’re as creamy as the Avon Supershock pencils, but I’m afraid not as long lasting (and US/UK Avon items  are a headache to source from where we are).  Stila cosmetics should be available at your local Rustan’s. Charlotte of Lipglossiping sent me this as part of our international product swap last year :).

I am wondering though, if they’re a bit TOO creamy, but right off the bat, you get a bang of color.  I’m thinking our heat and local humidity have something to do with the pencil being too soft and creamy.  The nib is easily nicked or smudged if you’re not careful.  I used it already here, sorry it doesn’t look brand spankin’ new, LOL.

I recommend refrigerating these for a few minutes before extended use.  However I do love this flesh-colored pencil she sent me, surprisingly, it’s very good as an eye brightener/ on-the-go dark circle eliminator because of how creamy and solid the payoff is, it is a bit too pink for my skintone though.  Remember to use a high quality sharpener that won’t ruin your cosmetic pencils,  a budget one that works for me is the Ever Bilena Cosmetic Sharpener which I wrote about.

This fleshy pencil kind of qualifies as a salmon color corrector, if you need one to eliminate blue under your eyes.  I also think that any of these Eye Kajals by Stila would work well as eyeshadow bases if directly applied and blended over the lid.  I’m quite interested in acquiring a few more colors, more typical for the eyes like black, a midnight blue, a brown, and a plum shade perhaps, which would all work as good eyeshadow color-bases or great for smudging along the lashline.  It’s also an ouch-free on the waterline of your eye, although staying power isn’t impressive.  I’m sorry if there’s a drought of emotion in this one…my weekends and mornings have been so…go, go, go…hardly any time to sit for several moments.  I’ll catch up my beauties! 🙂  Have a soothing Sunday.… To full post & COMMENTS...

My Miss Dior Cherie, Sofia Coppola, and Natalie Portman

I wanted it long before the ladies went crazy bout this and before Natalie’s flick hit theaters worldwide.  Because you see, now that The Black Swan film’s leading lady Natalie is endorsing it, this ladylike scent is a sales star.

Mom and Dad spotted my blog wishlist for last Christmas and got me my most favorite item on it, Miss Dior Cherie, the Eau de Toilette.

Now, mind you it wasn’t just the bottle that got me giddy, the first time I spied this cologne was when I read an article about the lovely Sofia Coppola loving this scent, and the fact that Sofia ended up directing the television commercial for it gave the scent such a cool talking point.  Watch the behind the scenes of the commercial here.  I’ll post the actual commercial at the very end of the post 🙂

Continue reading to know how I was led to this scent and watch the final output of the TV ad at the end. 🙂

The Glee in Haus of Gloi – Vegan Bath & Body Products

Belated Happy Valentine’s!  These Haus of Gloi items arrived in January, so it’s about time I said something about them, eh?  I’ve hardly had one or two hours to myself apart from being besieged by the flu, and in addition to that my laptop went bust, so my boyfriend’s been quite busy with it at the moment.  That altogether put an anti-climactic halt to my plans for on-the-spot Valentiney posts.  Ahhh, phooey, did my laptop have to catch it from me as well (bitterly)…well…ahem…

IN PHOTO top to bottom: Eggnoggin Pumpkin Body Butter, Parkin Pumpkin Body Butter, Parkin Soft Bubbling Scrub, Elevenses Soft Bubbling Scrub, Eggnoggin Soft Bubbling Scrub, Hearth Soft Bubbling Scrub

One can hardly explain the absolute and ultimate glee I felt when my first package of Haus of Gloi items arrived (Limited Yuletide collection) followed by my second purchase of the one-day reverie Peppermint Cocoa (for Mom)  and Spiced Cocoa whipped soap pair that sold out in last December’s Cyber Monday sale.

Haus of Gloi is a U.S. vegan bath and body brand established by husband and wife, Matt and Britton, vegan means their products are environmentally friendly, made from organic ingredients, and cruelty free.  They specialize in “Foodie” scents and nostalgic, seasonal concoctions.

In the first batch at the top I ordered six small 2 oz pots from their site HausofGloi.com, two body butters in Eggnoggin and Parkin, and four soft bubbling scrubs in Eggnoggin, Parkin, Elevenses, and Hearth.  Peppermint Cocoa and Spiced Cocoa followed in the form of whipped soap which I’ll review separately of course 🙂

I find it absolutely satisfying as well that the products come sealed for freshness in this way.

The labels are delightfully designed, stylishly kitsch and medieval in a way and the entire family of themes under the Haus of Gloi brand emanates a sense of ageless once upon a time wonder.  See what I mean in the scent descriptions below.

Eggnoggin (Yuletide collection) – “The Haus ‘nog!  Cream, sugar, and a shot of dark rum top with fresh grated nutmeg.”

Elevenses (regular item) – “Not quite breakfast not quite lunch it’s the little snack in between.  Bring out the old cracked china!  Tiny, little, fluffy orange cakes, sugar-coated toasty almonds, and a wee steaming cup of black tea!”

Parkin (Yuletide collection) – “Glorious ginger cakes celebrating Guy Fawkes day!  Brown sugar, black treacle, oats, a peculiar blend of white spices tossed with chopped roasted chestnuts and topped with the lightest of icings.”

Hearth (Yuletide collection) – “The warm glowing center of any home.  The fall’s last apple pickings, warm bread, orange rind, fire roasted chestnuts, cracked black pepper all nailed down by an oozing sticky benzoin (something like molasses).”

I’m making this my introductory post to the Haus of Gloi line as I hardly have any time at the moment to talk about each scent and my sentiments about them, plus this happens to be an office computer and I’ve taken to enjoying this sudden flash of fleeting downtime over here so I have to make this quick.  Hehe, aren’t those scent descriptions absolutely yummy?  I’m telling you, as a preview to my next in-focus post on these products, it’s a totally delicious scent experience.

The lovely couple were also kind enough to send me two free sample perfume oil vials of two other scents, Troika and Peach Mama.

BlessMyBag Meets the AZKALS – Style Slash Sports Slash Faces of the Day

I’ve never seen girls and boys this happy with their make-up.  They must be truly inspired.

So now, I’m sure some of you have guessed where I happened to be yesterday.

I hadn’t planned specifically on meeting the AZKAL boys, an opportunity presented itself, but the chaos of the event pounded that to dust, and then God intervened.  I once more, thanks to Him have a truckload of worthwhile photos for you.  Yes, dears, if you want to see more and get to the pogi-pics, you must click Continue Reading.
