The absentee beauty blogger is back! I’ve got lots coming up for you it’s just that it’s quite disorienting to be back and I’ve had to do a corporate makeup job the very next day with an early call time. I’m quite stretched to be honest and still reeling from jet lag and the whole trip, but guess what I’ve got a couple of goodies for you guys. I will mention one thing lightly, lots of the cosmetic drugstore stuff in the US can already be found here, not all but a lot, but their drugstores still rock the boat when it comes to haircare. Only one variant of Sulfate Free L’Oreal Ever Pure haircare is available locally (the one for straight hair) but naturally in the States they’ve got all variants. What’s lovely about the moisturizing type I got is it’s like a milder drugstore version of my favorite Pureology hydration range also under L’Oreal. Plus who can refuse being lathered in a Rosemary and Mint scent? It makes me feel like a lush lamb LOL. It lathers well despite being sulfate-free and is safe for colored hair. The shampoo and conditioning system together leaves my hair feeling fresh at the scalp and feeling like that smooth type of healthy. How my hair moves does not apply in this case, haha. Got this at Duane Reade, the 24-hr pharmacy chain by Walgreens available at almost every other block in the city I was at.
I haven’t forgotten about the giveaway plus I have lots of great features in store for you to make up for this long hiatus. I did have my iPad with me on the trip but the situation was quite tight and packed full to the brim so I hardly had a moment to sit down and think. If you followed me on Instagram you must’ve kept up with me to some degree. Thanks for being understanding. I’ll catch up and make it up to you as soon as I can. Just know that tomorrow I’m flying out to Boracay for a wedding job naman, but will cart my technology along with me to try and keep you posted!
Yes, I’m still here…this blog is still alive. It’s been a whirlwind of days suddenly preparing for this journey abroad. I’ll be away almost 2weeks, of course will inject blogging whenever I can :D. With lots of love from family I’m about to be whisked away to a certain place. I thought I’d have some fun this time. This giveaway is open to the rest of you, I mean that I’m not allowing friends who are a part of my personal private Facebook account to join (blog FB fans and other readers you guys are ok). Sorry, guys, my private FB friends, you already know too much so I’ll have to exempt you. This will be simple, no Rafflecopter needed either. Choose from these 4 cities and Tell me in the comments below where you think I’m headed. (Copy paste or type from the Multiple choice answers beneath the photo) From the batch of those who answered correctly I shall select a random winner to give a beauty “pasalubong” to :). I shall select a winner roughly after 1 week.

I’ve mentioned Belo Sun Expert sunscreens in the past and I love how their sunscreen lotions feel “better” over the skin compared to some regular sunblock formulas that can feel super pasty and sticky. I’ve tried their standard SPF60 sun expert body lotion and the SPF40 sun expert facial lotion. Both kept me protected from the slightest burn during a whole day football tournament my brother had over a year ago, I think I only reapplied once on my shoulders in the afternoon and the formula didn’t give me difficulty when soaping in the shower afterwards. I didn’t think they could do better but when team Belo sent me a Sun Expert package this new product caught my eye. Sunblock with high protection that you’re not supposed to see!
BELO SPF50 TRANSPARENT MIST, Php449.75 100ml (Non-sticky, quick-drying, cell protection, hypoallergenic) suitable for face and body
DO NOT SPRAY DIRECTLY ON FACE, spray on hands first then apply to face.
• Provides broad-spectrum protection against UV rays
• With Cell Protect® Technology that strengthens the skin’s defense system, maintaining healthy skin while preventing accelerated premature skin aging
• Anti-aging • Sprays at any angle • Quick absorbing with even coverage • Non-sticky •Water resistant •Immediate effectivity (no waiting time) •Mild cooling effect •Paraben-free
• Hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested (precaution: flammable prior to drying)
What I like about this product is that you can’t see it, it’s practically invisible…though I would like to fully understand better how it provides high SPF50 protection information is somewhat limited. It’s great applied under makeup and I’ve tried it under Benefit Cosmetics’ BIG Easy cream and once this transparent mist has set (after about 5-8 minutes) it didn’t mess with that makeup base which I applied on top which is a wonderful thing for a sunscreen for makeup lovers in the summer. If I’m not mistaken it’s a rare, invisible high protection formula that shouldn’t flash back on cam (but don’t take my word for it, test it yourself, on that point I am assuming). I patted and spread it across my clean face after spraying it onto my palms first. Read more to get the full review.
When I arrived at the Happy Skin Cosmetics summer launch yesterday high above the city at 71 Gramercy I could hardly believe that practically everything I saw there excited me to pieces.
