What you’re seeing is a “repurchase”. I had one of these Clinique Airbrush Pen Concealers a few months back and used it up way too quickly before I could review it because I used it almost every time I went out for 2 months. I was born with dark circles. Seriously, I must’ve had some late nights in mom’s womb or something because as far back as I can remember they showed up in photos regardless of whether I slept well or not. I also hated that people were always asking if I slept well or if I needed to rest when I was completely fine. I thought I was being led on yet again only because of Lisa Eldridge’s magic and her pleasant product pushing hypnosis, but in fairness to her so far not one of her recommendations have ever disappointed. Now I totally get why she prefers THIS PARTICULAR ONE by Clinique compared to dozens of pen concealer/highlighters out there. The concealing formula truly has some heft and coverage, not just micro luminosity. It does work using some light reflection but not the sort using shimmer that gives ugly flashback in photos. In short it’s got a level of acceptable “flashback” that you need.
If I’m not mistaken the current retail price from local Clinique counters is Php1050 or Php1150. The only con with this is locally (why again!!? in NYC they have 4 shades up to a really deep one) they only sell one shade Light 03 which would match of course me, a MAC NC30 girl (a yellow toned fair to medium shade). Don’t let them sell it to you saying “it’s universal”. Don’t ever accept that sort of “universal shade” sales talk when it comes to concealers and foundations unless it’s a chemically adjusting formula. If it’s not your shade it is simply not your shade. I guess the closest product with many shades that has a similar thin liquid formula for covering dark circles (no light reflection perk though) in a non-cake-y way is MAC Pro Longwear concealer. I hate the packaging of the MAC one though, the small pump which gives too much, if that product was in pen form it would be perfect and similar to this, so Clinique wins over that because of packaging for me, and because the only shade they sell here is my shade, thankfully. I got my second one with some saved up Rustan’s GCs. The product comes through from a brush tip on top after you twist and click at the bottom. It takes awhile for the product to come out when you first open it, but once it comes through it dispenses a bit more steadily with each twist. Zoella raved about these, Lily Pebbles did the same, and NikkieTutorials, a PRO makeup artist and YouTuber didn’t hesitate to say that they were better overall in her opinion than Sigma brushes or MAC brushes (most likely in the context of value for money). I was almost tempted to say they were like Europe’s answer to Sigma brushes, but when Zoeva Cosmetics sent me my own Luxe Complete Brush Set to review, I changed my mind. They look and feel better and quality looks more consistent across. With Zoeva $60-$80 USD goes a long way, you can get already get a budget set. The set I was sent though is about EUR105 because it’s a larger range with 15 brushes. Plus you know the well-known habit of German made things lasting longer than your lifetime? Throw that knowledge together with the look of this professional brush range and you’ve certainly got yourself a major contender in terms of performance in application. No I haven’t tried them with products just yet but already just by their appearance, feel, and my professional experience I already know they’ll do excellently on the job.
An exquisite selection of 15 of our finest brushes, made from a custom blend of natural and synthetic bristles. EUR105
As a blogger, a few months back I actually browsed through the Zoeva site since the brush sets were gaining sparkling reviews at an amazing rate following the brand’s debut across several YouTube channels. It was there that I saw a “blogger” related tab and saw that you could actually propose that they send you stuff to review if they screen your blog, stats, and approve the quality of your site. My site and traffic stats were screened and I was told that I qualified after a month and that they would send me the products of my choice after another month. I may have a second post on this set feature a look where I actually use all the brushes. Read more to have a closer look at my favorite brushes from the set and see one separate brush I also chose for them to send me because it was necessary.
Hi y’all, I’ve decided to write again even if things haven’t exactly smoothed over yet in the personal situation department. I’m slowly getting there. I know for sure I owe you guys an NY post blast. And I’ve been fixing the photos Then yes, the giveaway winner will be announced shortly. I still don’t quite have it in me to be elaborate and blog to the utmost detail but the photos, ohhh these photos have so much to show and so much to say that I’m delighted to share them with you.
I stayed with my cousin KC who went out of her way to have me experience what I haven’t yet in this rich and robust city (a city truly charged by caffeine lol), she was so sweet and accommodating and I have so much to thank her for, thanks Cuzzo, truly, from the bottom of my heart. I’ll try and put captions where possible :). Click more to jump to the truckload of photos :).
Boo y’all! One of the first beauty related things I had time to do while I was abroad was try on what my niece sent me from the Sephora VIB sale, she got me the limited edition “Little Sexy” size pot of Glam Glow Youth Mud. She was so sweet, because she knew I wouldn’t arrive in time to avail of the sale she asked if I wanted a little somethin’ from it in advance. I chose this little .5 oz pot, it was about $20 from the sale and $24 originally from the Glam Glow site. If celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Nina Dobrev had only good stuff to say as well as Jennifer Aniston, Denzel Washington and Jay-Z before the packaging even had branding on it (source: Forbes) then you know somethin’ good and glam is going on!
Designed as a 10-minute professional ‘facial in a jar’ for behind-the-scenes use in Hollywood’s Entertainment, Music, Fashion & Award industries, for immediate camera- ready glowing skin. GLAMGLOW’s mud base is from the South of France Mediterranean Sea, home to glamorous Cannes, St. Tropez & Monaco. GLAMGLOW’s moisturizing collagen synthesis is for both men & women. Use a couple of times a week or simply when you need GLAM-tastic™ skin.
INGREDIENTS: Aqua (Water), Montmorillonite (Volcanic Minerals), Kaolin (French Sea Clay), Magnesium Aluminum Silicate (Purified Clay), Polyethylene, Pumice (Micro Volcanic Rock), Camellia Sinensis Leaf (Green Tea Leaf), Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract (Green Tea), Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract (Chamomile), Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract (Marigold), Cucumis Sativus Fruit Extract (Cucumber), Hedara Helix Extract (Ivy), Symphytum Officinale Leaf Extract (Comfrey Herb), Lavandula Hybrida Oil
Groundbreaking patent pending TEAOXI™ is GLAMGLOW’s proprietary continuous time-release technology, delivering daily fresh Super-Squalene, EGCG Super-Antioxidants & Polyphenols direct into the mud from the real pieces of tea leaf contained in our mask. TEAOXI™ is the ‘magic’ behind our powerful anti-aging and anti wrinkle results.
I did a patch test along my jaw first before doing my whole face since I had never tried this before and it rendered no bad reaction. The mask once on feels exactly what I want a mud treatment mask to feel like. On a newly washed and tissue dabbed face I used about 2 index finger scoops to cover (with the exception of the eye area (remember this mask tingles) and then just waited. You’re supposed to have it on for about 10 minutes I pushed for 12 but made sure I didn’t reach 15 minutes. The mask tightens as it dries and contracts and at the same time delivers a cooling tingle underneath directly over the skin. So, yes, you feel the surface of your face go stiff. Many purists say cooling is not a “naturally sourced” sensation but I like it as part of the experience. Then after you rinse it off, warm water works.
This exfoliated my skin and left it feeling like it had just been through a sauna and massage…super duper smooth and supple and it killed off several subsurface whiteheads and stopped some oncoming zits from maturing. My face so needed this stuff at this point. Admittedly the full size pot is quite expensive which is why I chose the “little sexy” size also so that it would be easier for my niece to ship. The small pot should deliver about 3-4 generous uses or 5 scrimp-y uses. Really glad I tried this stuff. It’s actually one of those products that would be fun to try on with a BFF or hubby with selfies to follow. You guys should try this stuff at least once in your life.
The absentee beauty blogger is back! I’ve got lots coming up for you it’s just that it’s quite disorienting to be back and I’ve had to do a corporate makeup job the very next day with an early call time. I’m quite stretched to be honest and still reeling from jet lag and the whole trip, but guess what I’ve got a couple of goodies for you guys. I will mention one thing lightly, lots of the cosmetic drugstore stuff in the US can already be found here, not all but a lot, but their drugstores still rock the boat when it comes to haircare. Only one variant of Sulfate Free L’Oreal Ever Pure haircare is available locally (the one for straight hair) but naturally in the States they’ve got all variants. What’s lovely about the moisturizing type I got is it’s like a milder drugstore version of my favorite Pureology hydration range also under L’Oreal. Plus who can refuse being lathered in a Rosemary and Mint scent? It makes me feel like a lush lamb LOL. It lathers well despite being sulfate-free and is safe for colored hair. The shampoo and conditioning system together leaves my hair feeling fresh at the scalp and feeling like that smooth type of healthy. How my hair moves does not apply in this case, haha. Got this at Duane Reade, the 24-hr pharmacy chain by Walgreens available at almost every other block in the city I was at.
I haven’t forgotten about the giveaway plus I have lots of great features in store for you to make up for this long hiatus. I did have my iPad with me on the trip but the situation was quite tight and packed full to the brim so I hardly had a moment to sit down and think. If you followed me on Instagram you must’ve kept up with me to some degree. Thanks for being understanding. I’ll catch up and make it up to you as soon as I can. Just know that tomorrow I’m flying out to Boracay for a wedding job naman, but will cart my technology along with me to try and keep you posted!
