MY BUDGET SUMMER MAKEUP EDIT 2016

I get the random comment about my makeup recommendations being safe for normal and clear skin types.  A good number of you out there, I’ve observed, prefer more coverage.  So, for today’s budget  summer makeup look I am sporting more coverage and a heavier less dewy finish, more than what I’d personally wear.  For those among you who like things more packed in and shine-free I give you this edit.

In the look I do not use the eyeliner but I’ve still added an eyeliner recommendation.  Read on for more on the look and product details.

CATRICE Sun Glow Matte Bronzing Powder

I haven’t been fortunate when it comes to the recent bronzers I’ve picked up…the last three bronzing compacts I’ve owned have all smashed somehow halfway due to random accidents.  My Yves Rocher bronzing powder duo *sniff* dropped at my cousin’s wedding, now phased out locally, my Topshop matte bronzer in Mohawk from the UK that fell before I got to review it (fell off a desk during a job, I’ve pressed it back into the compact but it’s a mess to work with), and my last one which was a heartbreaker, none other than the Pixi Shape and Shadow contour compact (which is awesome by the way).  I’ve picked up a new one from the department store that’s mid-range to affordable in pricing.

CATRICE Sun Glow Matte Bronzing Powder 020 Deep Bronze (Darker Skin…umm, but not really) Php399.00 SM Beauty

Accidents have recently happened to my favorite bronzers when I’m not even halfway in, but never to my blush or powder compacts…strange.  God bless and protect this next one.   I don’t have the budget anymore for something high end and I spotted this Matte Bronzing Powder by Catrice for Darker Skin (which ironically is suitable for medium to fair skin), in SM immediately and swatched it.  I’m pretty glad I did, because it’s wonderful.  Read on for the full post.… To full post & COMMENTS...

HAPPY SKIN x PLAINS & PRINTS | PRINTS MADE PRETTY

Another year with Happy Skin cosmetics can only get better.  They’ve made way into love month with a fun makeup and style collaboration alongside the brand’s clothing retail partner Plains & Prints.  Imagine a clothing line inspired by a makeup collection, different indeed!  The clothes will be exclusively available via Zalora.com.ph from February 10-17.  This post features the cosmetics, mainly the lippies.  Sorry to say you now must know I felt slightly overcome with nausea and palpitations in the fitting room while fitting clothes at the event.  I even had to ask for a glass of water to be brought to me inside the fitting room, something about too much caffeine.  Just know that with me excess caffeine + crowds + decisions are not a good combination, haha.  There vanished any resolve to shoot OOTDs after.

The makeup collection features our favorite Happy Skin Shut up & Kiss me lippies in two new shades and extremely new glam makeup items never before done by Happy Skin.  I personally took all my photos at the event, flatlay models on the floor included, except for the shot of me above by Ira, a Happy Skin intern who used my camera.    Read on to see me try these out and see the rest of the post.… To full post & COMMENTS...

The MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Sculpt Range

“IMMA FINISH BY MIDNIGHT” says the author of this post on Snapchat.  Great, now I’m stressed, I gave myself 25 minutes left to tell you bits and bobs about MAKE UP FOR EVER’s new Pro Sculpt range.  I certainly won’t make it before midnight (after midnight disclaimer right there).  You’ll also have to pardon my severely chipped nails.

In a nutshell, the brow item is everything one needs for a precise natural brow and then some (with a waxier texture, a spoolie brush, and a highlight sponge bulb in the middle), the contour and color kit just works, and they were thoughtful to do both brow and face kits in several colorway intensities (4-5 shades for brow and contour items) according to depth of skin hue.  The lipstick item I specifically left out for separate review because the one they gave me was red (items above were at the event).  I also include gossmakeupartist’s video tutorial for the use of the palette at the end of the post.  Read on to see me try on the palette and brow pencil.… To full post & COMMENTS...
