It’s about time, isn’t it? Seeing that the top trending post on the site for the last 3 years was my Top Foundations post I’m convinced that this particular makeup topic was crying out loud for an update. Here are the slightly more luxurious ones that I feel have been worth spending for as part of my foundation arsenal. I present my top 5 high-end foundations plus, a brush and pressed powder so worth mentioning.
Along with mentioning my Top 5 foundations I need to share about the compact powder I use to set or tone down shine along the T-zone for the dewier formulas, that together with the foundation brush that I love for both liquid and powder application. I’ve gone the extra mile by shooting my face wearing all 5 foundations this morning. I used NUXE oil to gently remove my makeup between every transition followed by a wet face towel to take it all off quickly without additional chemicals…result, my face did not get irritated or break out into a rash. To see how these magical liquids wear and appear on my face (all without concealer) keep reading.
It took awhile but my vlog on my Korean Facial experience at Oracle Aesthetic Clinic, the world’s leading Korean dermatological and surgical beauty clinic finally uploaded without errors or freeze-frames. You can read all about them here. As I write this part of the paragraph, the internet, it seems, at the moment has taken the quickest route to sabotage my smooth upload moment. The upload has stopped twice and been reset twice on YouTube. It’s moving slowly now and finally progressing. Oracle Skin Clinic is a Korean chain of dermatological clinics acclaimed by their use of advanced technology, their trust in medical expertise, and their application of gentle skincare products in their treatments.
The Pomegranate mask, a finishing touch on one of the most gentle, yet effective clinic facials available locally today, the Oracle Korean facial (FULL FACIAL Php3500.00, 50% off for first timers).

When my aunts had a sister sweep of the facials halfway in they were already thanking my mother for recommending the clinic because they were raving that it was the best facial experience they’d ever had. One of those aunts of mine has even more sensitive skin than mine and is married to a German so her standards are wayy up there, but she was the first one to say it was the best. I got my slot a few days later on Black Saturday and I opted for the Korean Facial treatment with no extractions. Read on to see a few more shots of my aunts during their facial experiences at Oracle Skin Clinic before watching my vlogvideo at the end of this post.… To full post & COMMENTS...
Hi, at long last I got a video up! The camera work on my Morning Skincare Routine video is a bit shaky sorry about that but Mom really did her best, she helped me that morning get it done, God bless her. Drink Bonamine nalang before watching, lol.
Of course you understand that on some days I don’t get to use all of the ones mentioned here. Sometimes, I leave out one or two of these in the rush, but right now these are all the products I’ve been reaching for before I’m out the door in the morning. Alpha-H Gentle Daily Exfoliant w/ Papaya & Pineapple Php2345 from SEPHORA PH (that’s the regular price, I got it on sale last year for about Php1500 or less, or you could sign up then wait and see if they still do the birthday discount 🙂 I availed of a 20% birthday discount last year when it was still Luxola.)
Kaolin, Solum Diatomeae, Bentonite, Maltodextrin, Ananas Sativus Fruit Extract, Carica Papaya Fruit Juice, Citric Acid, CI 77891.
Technically, this is what we would call a quick, rinse-off mask but then it doesn’t quite coagulate like one, it sits on the skin deeply but doesn’t harden because application is thin. It’s simpler and much more gentle since you don’t keep it on for long. Read on to see what it looks like and see an instructional video.… To full post & COMMENTS...
You asked for it so you’re getting it, YAY. I apologize for the 2 day delay, internet issues. I ended up finally uploading this 4 minute HD video in like 5 minutes in a corporate office (wow, can I live here)! We’ll start off with plenty of product right here when you watch my FULL evening skincare routinevideo.
CLEANSE: Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm (Boots, Oxford, UK)

In contrast, the quick and lazy evening skincare routine (1-2 products, when I have 0% batt on me) will be brought to you in a blog post. Read on to watch the video embedded at the end of this post.… To full post & COMMENTS...
The NIVEA Baby Range, which my fave, phenomenal facial moisturizer Nivea Baby Smoothy Cream, is part of, is now available at Mercury Drug! I’m also eyeing something new from the range because my skin has been quite reactive due to drastic changes in the weather. I’ve been getting random flare ups on my face which does usually happen around this time of year. I can’t tell you how much I absolutely love Nivea Baby Smoothy Cream which I’ve already reviewed. It calms my flare ups and also performs well as a basic moisturizer, it also doesn’t leave a greasy feeling behind, it leaves it supple which is how I like it.
Since I can’t afford anything from Aesop as of the moment I’ve spotted something new from the NIVEA baby range that may or may not work wonders for me as a facial cleanser once I’ve consumed my current facial wash. I personally don’t mind using baby products as personal skincare, this Nivea Baby Range is made in Hamburg, Germany and uses only the purest ingredients suitable for babies. I’m quite interested in this Nutri-Sensitive Milk Wash which is formulated for cleansing infants from birth.
So far that smoothy cream has worked wonders for me, I’m wondering if this will do the same and I’m so glad the NIVEA Baby range has now also been made available in select Mercury Drug stores locally.
