This caught my eye online and I saw that it was posted by Dioronly a week ago. It’s so refreshing to hear the lovely Marion Cotillard speak in her native language.
Enter the House of Dior in this first “webisode” slash installment of the Lady Dior Web Documentaries. In this first video out, you get a barely 2-minute glimpse of the glory of cuts and stitches as seasoned seamstresses fashion some of the brand’s most beautifully tailored creations for their beautiful brand ambassador.
Hundreds of celebrities and influential individuals made their way into Shangrila Makati last night for the sensational event that is the Star Magic Ball, an ABS-CBN celebration of the network’s hardworking, shining stars. Here’s one glimpse of a couple I knew personally at that posh event and I beam with pride because Sam asked me to do her makeup after we finished work on an album cover shoot together yesterday.
Unlike a lot of the makeup seen at the Star Magic Ball Sam wanted to keep it noticeable but fresh, simple, and neutral to round off her already flashy silver-sequined, dress and please her fiancee’s reserved taste. Paolo Valenciano’s dapper suit was provided for the event by 5cm.

My cousin, Pao, proposed to his girlfriend Samantha Tabuena-Godinez last June 15, 2012 while his father, Gary V., was touring in California. Trivia token, in case you didn’t know, Sam’s father, Jaime Godinez owns Sound Check, which is the country’s top sound engineering and services company and they are entrusted with Gary Valenciano’s concerts and almost every major foreign music production that makes its way to the Philippines.… To full post & COMMENTS...
The weather has just been pretty gloomy lately, hasn’t it? I’ll admit I’ve been a bit lazy on my beauty posts in the last few days and even skipped 1 or 2 days of pilates (that otherwise would have been daily) not just because of the moody weather but also because I’ve been spending a bit more quiet time with my family. I’ll catch up soon. It’s just that all those true but horrid stories on the news about people dying, drowning, or being crushed just made me want to silently be with my own pack. My mom, who has been working ever since before I was born, has also chosen to retire…from advertising, but not from work in its entirety. She’s still got something new up her sleeve in another field. At the moment she’s in transition and she’s been home a lot which is quite comforting to say the least. To pounce on today’s topic: I refrain from buying magazines. I do miss physically pouring over them, though. They’re easier on the eyes than blogs and sites online when I just don’t want to be glued to my laptop and they’re great references to show clients when they’re unsure of what they want makeup-wise. In addition to food, Mom likes treating me to magazines every now and then, today was one of those days. I have also been reading books again in bed which is something I super duper miss, will mention which books in another post after I get a few beauty and giveaway posts up.
NYLON Singapore Aug 2012/British VOGUE Sept 2012/ELLE UK Sept 2012 travel size/Star Wars Moleskine Notebook
I do usually prefer a British Vogue issue over the U.S. Issue. The features of the latter are often so smothered by an avalanche of advertisements. British Vogue is just a delight to read, there’s just something in the way they sequence the ads and features together in a harmonious way. It’s not often as thick as their U.S. sister but in their case less is more. Don’t get me wrong, Vogue U.S. is still splendid, it’s just that for me there’s a quality I look for in that magazine that is missing, I can’t quite put my finger on it. I’m not an EDITORIAL EXPERT, but for my personal taste the content of British Vogue more often than not is rich, exceptionally well-written and of course it only boosts my love and fascination of all things British even more (maybe that’s it…really). The only items I bought with my own money was the NYLON Singapore AUG issue which I didn’t intend to buy (I grabbed it & thought ’twas a SEPT issue. Obviously Lost in TRANSACTION) and the limited edition Star Wars Moleskin notebook which I’m planning to gift to someone dear to me on that person’s birthday. Price? Php999=Php1k, yipe, but that person is worth it and I’m going to pen, pimp, and personalize its intro pages.
Relatives, if you are reading this and know who I am referring to, do not share because I know he doesn’t read my blog. There were two kinds of Star Wars Moleskine LTD Edition notebooks. I saw the Silver Light Speed design but I preferred this bronze embossed one with the nostalgic scrolling text supers. This design felt more epic and the ascending synopsis always lends itself to the act of chronicling one’s own EPISODE in life.… To full post & COMMENTS...
Hi, everyone! I’ve secured a booth at the Bargain Hunt Bazaar which will be an event at Megatent, Libis (near Dampa). I’m expecting a huge, mid-range sale mix of retail, pre-loved, and novelty items. Mine won’t primarily be a makeup booth, mostly pre-loved apparel, but I will certainly have a little tray of trinkets and a few random unused cosmetic things for sale. My booth will consist primarily of pre-loved and mint condition apparel (clothes, bags, shoes, and accessories) compiled together by my family and mom’s clan.
Hehe, but don’t expect too much of a fancy setup on my part, we had little time as a family to plan for this, but I can assure you the quality and prices of items we’ll be putting on for sale will have you rummaging through our stuff with glee. Come on everybody, the more the merrier! Plus, get some super advanced Christmas shopping done and spare yourself the holiday rush! Like WildEvent’s Bargain Hunt Bazaar Facebook page within the next 2 days to get in for Free! Regular admission is Php80.00. I’ll tweet my both location as soon as I’m advised, follow me on twitter @blessmybag.… To full post & COMMENTS...
I was asked by my childhood friend, Carissa, if I could do makeup for her first major video project for Weareveryday Manila. They put out an online “videozine” for the style site featuring four of the Philippines’ popular “stylista” bloggers and their style picks for the seasonal transition from Summer-Fall. It was a small but very inspiring jumpstart shoot project sponsored by Forever 21 that took place one month ago. They were just opting for a light made up look with strong brows…not really a “no make-up” look…you know, just needed to give them that PRETTY obvious blogger polish.
“WearEveryday Manila is an online fashion magazine that highlights readily available merchandise and translates runway/ celebrity fashion trends into everyday wearable ensembles. Wear everyday. Fashion everyday.“
It was quite fun to do this shoot and my hairstylist for the day, Renz Pangilinan (parang pinsan lang lol…but we’re not “related”), and I got up at the crack of dawn to get these bloggers ready! Step into a stream of behind the scenes photos, a combination of some of my own pics and other shots provided by “Isa” and her super hardworking team.… To full post & COMMENTS...
I’ve read ASOS being frequently mentioned by European beauty bloggers, including the Pixiwoo sisters, dear Charlotte (Lipglossiping) and my fave style blogger slash designer slash budding model, Anni Jurgenson aka Style Hurricane. ASOS is reportedly the UK’s largest online-only style and beauty retail store which hosts a vast list of brands inclusive of its own range of items. If I’ve got my research right ASOS stands for “As Seen On Screen”.
“ASOS.com is a global online fashion and beauty retailer and offers over 50,000 branded and own label product lines across womenswear, menswear, footwear, accessories, jewelry andbeauty. ASOS has websites targeting the UK, USA, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Australia and also ships to over 190 other countries from its central distribution centre in the UK. Aimed at fashion forward 16-34 year olds, ASOS attracts over 13.6 million unique visitors a month and as at 30 September 2011 had 6.3 million registered users and 3.7 million active customers from 160 countries (defined as having shopped in the last 12 months).”
With the enormity of their online success ASOS has already gone and been global for quite a while now. The “candy” that calls out to the “children” is not just the fashion forward finds with complete size ranges but free membership and also their free standard shipping both ways policy (yes, Philippines included). For an additional cost, your purchase can arrive more speedily within as little as 4 days. So ASOS, in comparison to StrawberryNET is super similar, it’s just that StrawberryNET is a purely beauty discount store.
If for example you don’t like what you get or receive the wrong thing the item is returnable and refundable within a minimum time period. Sale periods also are not scarce on the website which makes them highly popular even among those who prefer their frequent dose of thrift. In fact now they have an ongoing SALE on the site with lots of select items generously marked down.
If you scan thru ASOS’ fashion section, oh especially the yummy Petite category, you’re bound to “ooh” and “ahh” like I did over several pieces that hands down look like must-haves (with the ongoing sale some have been marked down as low as 8-10 GBP).
