MY MINI LUXE SKINCARE GIVEAWAY ‘TIL MAY 26

You guys know how I love to sweetly bait you all with a little giveaway love after a long absence.  Pardon the silence, two relatives from the same side in sad separate ways just happened to pass away on the same day early this week.  I was quiet before that took place but it extended my absence even longer.  So just before we begin our beauty journey once again I thought this time I’d turn on the cuteness with these miniatures in a giveaway.  Five of my high end skincare favorites all in mini form for one of you to own, aren’t they adorbs?  This giveaway is open until May 26th 12am (start of that day) and is nationwide only.

VMV Hypoallergenics Armada Sport 70 Sunscreen, Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, Pixi Glow Tonic (exfoliating toner), Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil, and Aveda Botanical Kinetics Intense Hydrating Soft Creme

If I was going to use these products in order, for an evening session, I’d begin with the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Oil all over my face to use as a cleanser/remover at the same time (note it doesn’t emulsify) and clear the makeup muck and residue off my face with a small wet, or very damp, flannel or towel (with excess water wrung out), making sure to remove any oily residue.  Mascara comes off so easily this way with the NUXE oil and it doesn’t sting my eyes.  Then next I’d go in with Pixi’s Glow Tonic exfoliating toner, do a quick sweep, leave it on for then apply a serum suited for sensitive skin like Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night repair which I’ve been using more regularly than any other serum for almost 3 years now.  If I’m feeling like I need a bit more plumping I’ll finish off with the Aveda Intense Hydrating Soft Creme moisturizer in the evening or the VMV Armada sunscreen (Sport 70 or Face Cover) instead during the daytime since it’s a sunscreen that feels like a light moisturizer anyway.

THE BEST BODY CREAM I’VE TRIED BY NUXE

That title is probably the heaviest claim on the lightest and nicest non-sticky but deeply penetrating body cream I’ve ever put on.  The best part is, the Nuxe Body Fondant Firming Cream smells of the spicy, slightly floral warmth of summer, too, with almond and orange flower petals.  The scent is attractive but not overwhelming, the texture is buttery but not greasy, win.  Straight up, no questions asked, this is an expensive product but for a body cream with this quality and effect I would eventually save to repurchase it if I ran out.  The texture is too dreamy to describe in full with words.  You have to try it.

NUXE BODY FONDANT FIRMING CREAM (No.1 firming care product in French pharmacies) Php2250 for 200ml from Rustan’s the Beauty Source.

“This double-acting firming and anti-ageing body cream with Orange Blossom and Almond Blossom petals has an instant firming effect. Its divine texture is perfect for massaging into target areas which have started to sag (thighs, stomach, chest and arms). It quickly sinks in, leaving skin soft, firm and more toned.”

I wouldn’t vouch for its firming effects on body sagging.  I just love how it smells and makes my skin feel softly nourished.  On the whole I’ve always been a body cream skeptic, especially in this humid country where anything heavy and sticky eventually takes the backseat on the shelf.  At first you say upon opening a tub of cream, “Oh this is lovely, and it smells nice…” but usually only time and how empty that huge pot or jar is will tell how well it was really working for you.  In tropical beauty a lot of tubs of heavy cream go unloved and unfinished.  On the contrary, I have a massive feeling that by the end of summer this tub of mine will be halfway gone.  I’ve reapplied it twice since I first tried it this afternoon and rubbed it onto my mother’s shins just to have another excuse to apply some more before this post, and I’ve reapplied it just now on myself.  Read on for the full post.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir “Eau de Beaute” – Not Your Average Facial Mist

Hearing about this Caudalie Beauty Elixir get heaps of praise from the respectable pro UK makeup artist, Lisa Eldridge, from UK vlogger Fleur, and my current fave Brit vlogger, Vivianna was enough to convince me to pick up a small bottle from Sephora here in Singapore.  It’s super lovely and smells amazing.  It’s not at all your regular sort of face spray, it’s not just “water” it has ingredients that do more than just wet your face.  I actually feel aggravated pores relax when I spray this on and flaky parts become hydrated and this provides an invigorating burst of stress-busting aromatherapy that’s herbal but doesn’t make you smell old or like a salad.  I even lightly spray this on top of my makeup as Lisa does after a long day and press in with my palms and it sort refreshes whatever makeup you’ve applied as long as you didn’t over-apply your base.

“Inspired by the “elixir of youth” used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary, this treatment smoothes features, tightens pores, and gives the complexion a burst of radiance. an excellent base for make-up, this water awakens the skin in the morning and livens it up before a night out. Part-toner, part-serum mist of essential oils and plant active ingredients.  For all skin lacking radiance. Beauty Elixir is an exceptional anti-dull complexion treatment and a wonderful after-shave for men.

USE: Shake well before use.  Close your eyes and mist onto the face before applying your moisturizer and at any time of the day.  0% Parabens, Absolutely NO Sulfates, Synthetic Dyes, Petro-Chemicals Phthalates, GMOs, Triclosan.  Against animal testing.  100% Natural Fragrance. Active ingredients: Grape, orange blossom, rose, organic balm mint, rosemary…

Caudalie is a French brand that champions the use of loads of natural ingredients that are expertly processed together to create gentle skincare for specific skin needs.  This beauty elixir is not just good for your skin, what’s also nice to do is, as Lisa recommended, spray it twice onto your hands and rub your palms together if you’re absolutely stressed or nauseous then cup your hands over your nose and inhale the natural fragrance this provides…instant relaxation.  I wouldn’t be surprised if this would be a lovely after-sun spray as well.  I got the smaller 30ml bottle from Sephora, Marina Bay Sands for SGD$23.00 but all Sephora outlets that carry Caudalie skincare should have it (about Php600+, that’s cheaper than in U.S.).  There’s a bigger 100ml size bottle as well but I forgot how much that one was, twas about over $30 SGD I think.… To full post & COMMENTS...
