Hundreds of celebrities and influential individuals made their way into Shangrila Makati last night for the sensational event that is the Star Magic Ball, an ABS-CBN celebration of the network’s hardworking, shining stars. Here’s one glimpse of a couple I knew personally at that posh event and I beam with pride because Sam asked me to do her makeup after we finished work on an album cover shoot together yesterday.
Sam’s Dress by Eric Delos Santos, Sam’s Hair done by Bernard
Unlike a lot of the makeup seen at the Star Magic Ball Sam wanted to keep it noticeable but fresh, simple, and neutral to round off her already flashy silver-sequined, dress and please her fiancee’s reserved taste. Paolo Valenciano’s dapper suit was provided for the event by 5cm.

My cousin, Pao, proposed to his girlfriend Samantha Tabuena-Godinez last June 15, 2012 while his father, Gary V., was touring in California. Trivia token, in case you didn’t know, Sam’s father, Jaime Godinez owns Sound Check, which is the country’s top sound engineering and services company and they are entrusted with Gary Valenciano’s concerts and almost every major foreign music production that makes its way to the Philippines.
I was asked by my childhood friend, Carissa, if I could do makeup for her first major video project for Weareveryday Manila. They put out an online “videozine” for the style site featuring four of the Philippines’ popular “stylista” bloggers and their style picks for the seasonal transition from Summer-Fall. It was a small but very inspiring jumpstart shoot project sponsored by Forever 21 that took place one month ago. They were just opting for a light made up look with strong brows…not really a “no make-up” look…you know, just needed to give them that PRETTY obvious blogger polish.

HAIRSTYLIST – Renz Pangilinan, for bookings 09153727262
It was quite fun to do this shoot and my hairstylist for the day, Renz Pangilinan (parang pinsan lang lol…but we’re not “related”), and I got up at the crack of dawn to get these bloggers ready! Step into a stream of behind the scenes photos, a combination of some of my own pics and other shots provided by “Isa” and her super hardworking team.
Yup, I made another. Sooner than you thought isn’t it? LOL. I was so disgusted visually with where and how I shot my first video that I decided to shoot one right away. This is not a no-makeup makeup look, this is a day look that I often wear out when I want to look made up and the only heavy thing about the look is the eyeliner. You’ll also get to see how I do everything from start to finish. Consider THIS video as my OFFICIAL maiden voyage into the new world of makeup video tutorials and reviews. I’ll probably try, but won’t promise, to film one every week or so. The eyeliner tutorial two days ago kind of only felt (and looked like) practice because I was such an unprepared goof.
You sure you wanna? Okay, fine it’s your screen and your eyes. Watch my Day Makeup Video Tutorial embedded below or at this link. The list of products I used is right under with each one I reviewed linked in bold to the actual blog post, and also if you open the video via YouTube they’re all in the description box as well.
