My late grandfather once said a couple of years ago that he wanted to give my maternal grandmother, 1000 roses…because she was the mother of his 9 children, and the love of his life.  The nostalgia that came over my mother when I showed her my recent beauty find was priceless.  Mom loves the scent of rose and I spotted this Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Moroccan Beauty Oil while at Healthy Options yesterday.  It is GMO-free, sulfate-free, vegan and cruelty-free plus contains some of my favorite ingredients like jojoba, rosehip, hyaluronic acid, cranberry, and rosa centifolia oil.

Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba), Rosa Canina (Rosehip), Punica Granatum (Pomegranate), Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry), Camelina Sativa, Argania Spinsosa (Argan) and Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Oils*, Fruit Stem Cells (Alpine Rose, Malus Domestica, Solar Vitis) and BioActive 8 Berry Complex*, Soothing Complex: [Hyaluronic Acid, Magnolia Officinalis Bark, Phoenix Dactylifera (Date) Leaf Cell and Boswellia Serrata (Boswellin) Extracts], Sorbitol, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Aloe Barbadensis Extract, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) and Aspalathus Linearis (Rooibos)*^, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) and Pelargonium Graveolens (Rose Geranium) Oils*, Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Oil

1000 Roses® Complex: Rosewater and rose essential oil evoke sensual and euphoric enhancing qualities with harmonizing constituents to soothe and soften delicate, dry, and sensitive skin.  Skin Soothing Complex (Hyaluronic Acid, Magnolia Bark, Boswellin and Date Leaf Extracts): Provides a protective moisture barrier with sensitivity pathway blockers to alleviate inflammation and inhibit skin reactivity.

The scent is a lovely true rose scent since it contains both Rose Geranium and Rose Centifolia oil.  I got this one for myself initially because my gift for Mom was different, but my brother has decided to treat her to this as well since it reminds her so much of my grandfather.  The initial texture and effect on my hand and eventually on my face was like the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate but for only Php750 (more than 3x less the price of the Kiehl’s one).  I immediately remembered my grandfather with warmth…and since my Pai facial oil was nearing its past suitable mark I picked this up.  If you couldn’t afford a huge bouquet of roses and your mom isn’t quite into flowers and more into beauty products you may want to consider this as a last minute gift for her.  Available at Healthy Options, the range has several other products like creams and toners as well as a starter set with 4-5 travel size products.  This lovely video by Globe by the way, moved me to tears yesterday, indeed we all tend to overlook the constant concern our mothers have for us, let’s cherish them always.

Fresh Seaberry Exfoliating Soap – Smell the Holidays in a Cake of Soap

Fresh is the brand name.  If you’re actually planning on giving soap to people this Thanksgiving or Christmas from the U.S. or elsewhere, or momentarily have access to a Sephora store, then bless them with this bath soap and this bath soap alone.  I actually now wish I’d gotten 2 or 3.  Friends brought this home from Sephora for me and it cost me about US$16.50 or Php690.00 in total. No bath soap scent so far reminds me of the holidays as much this one does.  I particularly appreciate how it doesn’t smell overly “gourmande” in nature but brings in warmth and freshness of the holiday season at the same time.

KEY INGREDIENTS: Shea butter, Seaberry/Seabuckthorn Oil, Cranberry fruit & seeds, Bitter Orange Peel, and Bamboo.  Seaberry oil, also known as seabuckthorn oil, is a powerful antioxidant rich in Omegas that restore and soften the skin, Shea butter also helps nourish and hydrate.

Paraben free | 100% Natural fragrance | Rich in Omegas 3, 6, 7, & 9 | Triple-milled to last longer

Look at this thing, it’s GI-MONGOUS!  It’s a well-equipped multitasking bar and scrubs the skin surface well if you apply more pressure.  You can feel the cranberry, bamboo, and bitter orange bits as you scrub the bar against your skin, it might feel a bit grainy for some so it might not be their cup of tea, but if you go gently it’s just as good as a regular soap bar.  I kind of went scrub happy so part of my arms got a bit red because of my excitement, but only temporarily.  It’s so great that the soap bar itself sort of “doubles” as a scrub puff or loofah.  It lathers like forever and a day plus the lather is quite silky and buttery, building up steadily as you rub it in.  This reminds me of the Snoe soap I sung praises of several months back but that one dissolves away much quicker.  Since this is triple-milled this Fresh Seaberry soap won’t melt away fast on you like the wicked witch  other soaps tend to.  It’s a heavyweight hitter this soap and although I love my bath oils and gels I do once in awhile miss the act of directly foaming myself up with a bar of good solid soap.  I wouldn’t use this on my face directly, I believe it’s really a body soap, if I were to try I’d take some of the lather on my hands and test it on my cheek.  This smells so, so…in tune with the last months of the year because of the strong scent of cranberries and orange wrapped up in the creaminess of Shea butter.  I sniffed this and got flashbacks of candles and cookies and presents, and even turkey because of the cranberries and I like that for once it’s not that sickly vanilla base scent that so many gourmande type soaps tend to have.  Quadruple Like, as in.… To full post & COMMENTS...
